Toronto Sun:Jays looking to deal Rios for Nick Johnson

The Blue Jays are attempting to deal their former No. 1 pick to the Washington Nationals for first baseman Nick Johnson.

Jim Bowden, new general manager of the Nationals, and Jays GM J.P. Ricciardi have discussed a Rios-for-Johnson swap.

The Jays are also looking at Tony Clark

THE BLUE JAYS will be looking at New York Yankees free agent first baseman Tony Clark as a replacement for Carlos Delgado. Clark hit 16 home runs for the Yankees and hit .221.

The Blue Jays' game plan was to sign Minnsota Twins free agent Corey Koskie of Anola, Man., and have him play third and move Eric Hinske to first base. It now appears that Koskie will stay with the Minnesota Twins or land with the Detroit Tigers or Seatttle Mariners. He won't be coming to Toronto

I'm curious as to how much Bowden could net from selling Rios to Japan. Then again, has Bowden considered selling Johnson to Japan, or trading him for someone older with an attitude problem, that makes a lot more money?

Poor Nick Johnson. Just when he thought he was going to play in a place that might generate a sizeable crowd.
Happy Holidays and a safe New Year to Yankee and Red Sox fans! How many days until Spring Training? 2006 should be interesting! Cheers!

Rios has a higher ceiling than Johnson, IMO.
I want to make babies with Philip Hughes.
