    The NFL: Week 13 Matchups

    WEEK 13

    Sunday, Dec. 5
    Arizona at Detroit, 1:00 p.m.
Rookie and former Michigan QB John Navarre makes his first NFL start for the Cardinals. The Lions fans may give him a better reception than Joey Harrington.
    Lions 19-17

Atlanta at Tampa Bay, 1:00 p.m.
The Falcons are the worst 9-2 team in the league.
    Buccaneers 30-17

    Buffalo at Miami, 1:00 p.m.
It's a pity Buffalo isn't in the NFC. They'd be playoff bound otherwise.
    Bills 24-7

Carolina at New Orleans, 1:00 p.m.
DT Jonathan Sullivan, a former 2003 top 10 pick, was caught grazing at a buffet line before last week's game and was a healthy inactive. That's how bad things are going for the Saints.
    Panthers 31-21

    Cincinnati at Baltimore, 1:00 p.m.
With road games at Indianapolis and Pittsburgh, the Ravens can't afford to lose this one.
    Ravens 24-10

    Houston at N.Y. Jets, 1:00 p.m.
Unlike the Jets last two opponents, Houston can score.
    Texans 24-23

    Minnesota at Chicago, 1:00 p.m.
Like the Colts, the Vikings offense will be too much to overcome.
    Vikings 24-13

New England at Cleveland, 1:00 p.m.
Browns fans enjoyed football more from 1996-1998 than they do now.
    Patriots 31-3

San Francisco at St. Louis, 1:00 p.m.
If the Rams lose this game, the league should award the NFC West to the number seven team in the AFC.
    Rams 27-17

    Tennessee at Indianapolis, 1:00 p.m.
The Titans are playing well. Unfortunately for them, so is Indy.
    Colts 34-24

Denver at San Diego, 4:05 p.m.
The Chargers are the best team in the AFC West.
    Chargers 27-23

Kansas City at Oakland, 4:05 p.m.
That was a great win at Denver last Sunday night.
    Raiders 31-30

Green Bay at Philadelphia, 4:15 p.m.
    The Pack is back.
    Packers 24-21

    N.Y. Giants at Washington, 4:15 p.m.
The Washington defense alone will win this game. That can be said for their other wins as well.
    Redskins 13-10

    Pittsburgh at Jacksonville, 8:30 p.m.
Despite having the appearance of being a tough matchup for Pittsburgh, the Jags have failed to impress anyone lately.
    Steelers 27-24

    Monday, Dec. 6

    Dallas at Seattle, 9:00 p.m.
Bill Parcells remains one of the NFL's greatest coaches.
    Cowboys 17-13

The Falcons are the worst 9-2 team in the league.

    Here's the problem.

They were the worst 5-2 team in the league. The worst 6-2 team. The worst 7-2 team. The worst 8-2 team. Now the worst 9-2 team.

Parcells had this one right: You are EXACTLY what your record says you are.

I'm actually expecting the 'Skins to score over twenty this week. If the offense can stay away from the false starts and dropped passes they should finally be able to play with a lead. IF they can get a lead the defense will force Eli to beat them. I see Eli having a long day. Redskins 27-17.

My reaction is that your crazy to pick against the Jets here. 1. We're at home. 2. Chad is almost definitely coming back. 3. Our defense is very good. 4. The Jets know they need to win this game.

    24-13 Jets.

Atlanta will also beat Tampa Bay. The Giants will beat the Redskins and the Eagles will beat the Pack.
“I mean, people knew that Brown was out there, and that Randy was ornery all the time. And Pavano is whoever he is. But if you’re their manager, you can’t go out and write about them like that.

    My thoughts...

Don't underestimate the Texans. They're due for an upset vistory and the Jets are ripe. They've struggled to beat the Browns and Cards.

Chad might be coming back too soon.

The Jets "D" will be tested this Sunday.

The Skins have a playoff defense.

I hate to say this but the Giants stink right now. Tiki is showing signs of wear and that O-Line is just awful.

TB is too good a team to go on a prolonged losing streak.

I'm not underestimating the Texans. I know they are a good team but the Jets are better. We struggled to beat the Browns and Cards without our starting QB.

I don't think he's coming back too soon. The Jets would not risk that.

Yes it will. We shall see.

Yeah man. That dumbass pass that Brett threw for the 2nd int. was huge. Big turnaround. The Pack just can't win in Philly. It's been 42 years!!

Oh well, if there's a bright side, it's that I have McLimbaugh and Westbrook in my other league.

Don't look now, but if both the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers get hot and the Minnesota Vikings are stumbling, we may see one of those two teams left out in the playoffs.

Besides, the Philadelphia Eagles and possibly next to clinch the Atlanta Falcons, the other 6 spots are up for grabs.

Hence why I'm not completely depressed and still calling for Henson to play right now. I realized this a few weeks ago, but I didn't allow myself to get excited about it until 1. we won last week and 2. Tuna himself spoke of the possibilities that exist in this craptastic NFC. It's ridiculous. Then again, I saw us make the playoffs at 8-8 in '99--it's not unheard of.

Of course he couldn't. He'd have his arms full carrying all his Lombardi trophies and rings.

Wow, the Giants really turned it around today. They're only down 31-7 with 2 minutes left in the game!

That Sunday night game very well may have been the game of the year. If Scobee had won the game on a 60-yard field goal as time expired, I think the world might have ended.

That puts a direct hit to the Pats' quest for the #1 seed., although I see Pitt losing to Baltimore before all is said and done.

I was sayin' no way, Josh Scobee, makes this 60-yard FG, he just missed it.

If NE gets home-field throughout the AFC playoffs and if they get healthy at the right time, it can be game over at Gilette Stadium.

Seriously, Houston has been a big disappointment this year. I expect Dom Capers to be on the hot seat in 2005. The honeymoon will be over for the Texans after this season.

    My wife's from PA.

That was a bad loss. If the Pack wants to play in the SB, they will eventually have to play in Philly again.

What a difference TO has made on that team. He's made everyone around him better.
