I've never liked the giy but used to think, "If he played for my team I 'd love 'em" He showed his true colors here. How can a porfessional athlete look in the mirror and say, "I gotta put this CD out, THEN I'll play some ball."?

    What a joke

Earth to Ron: you have a multi-million dollar contract to play basketball for the Indiana Pacers.

    Right??

I think on Monday I may show up with a crew and say "I need some time off from handling rejected mutual fund trades, I have a rap CD that's about to hit the shelves. Peace and Chicken Grease!!"

Exactly SOMH......I'm sure that he's using his own money to fund his music production too. Don't bite the hand that feeds ya'

Id still love to see Artest on the Knicks....

    Jesus Montero since June 1 (286 at-bats):
    .325/.386/.605/.991
    July 1 (182 at-bats):
    .348/.417/.658/1.075

Obviously as a Pacers fan, I am very ticked off at Artest right now. I do think that media put a bit of a spin on the whole story to make it seem a lot worse than it really was. The bottom line is that he is back playing now and says he will be committed for the rest of the season. In the two games back after the suspension, he put up great numbers.

However, I would like to trade him, because of the liability. The only problem is that what team is going to take him? How are we going to get an equal value player out of a trade? This incident killed his trade value. Plus he keeps mentioning that if the Pacers win a championship this year, he may retire. No GM wants to trade for this. I don't see it happening. Over the summer there were speculations of an Artest for Peja Stojakavic trade....man I wish that happpened. Peja still wants out of sacramento...

Peja is a soft player....who often dissapears in games at the worst possible time....the guy was practically invisible in past playoff series against the Lakers...and this past year against the Wolves

I'd take Artest over him anyday

and if you really wanna trade him.....as a Knick fan I'll take him in a heartbeat

I'll say one thing about Artest. His statments indicate how meaningless the NBA's regular season is. Artest could miss a month and the Pacers would still make the playoffs.

Oh believe me, I am well aware that Artest is a much better player that Peja. Strictly talking basketball, I would put Artest in the top 10 players of the NBA. The only problem is that he may retire next year. But as long as Reggie gets a ring before he retires this summer, I guess I will be content.

I really love Artest, still can't get over the fact that the Knicks drafted Frenchie over him, but he is definitely not in the top ten players in the NBA. However, I would take him over Peja.

    Top 10

    Shaq
    Duncan
    Garnett
    Kobe
    Jermaine O'Neal
    T-mac
    Pierce
    AI
    Baron Davis
    Lebron James

Artest isn't there, but he probably makes top twenty.

I don't understand how he could act this way.

I take softball games in the park more seriously than some of these pro athletes take thier profession...of course, I'm insane according to a lot of people...but still....

I would take LeBron over Baron...Pierce...TMac.....LeBron makes his teammates better and he is very mature for his age

Baron...Pierce...TMac all have horrible attitudes...they are "me" players who are happy taking 30 shots a game...scoring 35-40 and losing

Athletes say alot of weird things sometimes....I have a hard time believeing Artest would retire

idk I'm not a Peja fan at all....type of guy who scores 30+ points against teams like the Clippers or anyone who doesnt play physical defense.....yet anytime he plays against a good defensive player or a good individual defender....he shoots 4-18 or something like that

Artest is hella more valuable because he doesnt need to score to be a big factor in the game....he does alot more other things....if Peja isnt shooting well he is useless
