I'm guessing that he means that in MMA, upsets are more liable to occur.Originally Posted by Yankeeah

Thus UFC fans buy PPVs with the mindset that anything can happen while boxing fans have been ignoring mismatches on PPV (Pacquiao/Barrera II, Calzaghe/Jones, etc). But when you have two evenly matched elite boxers heading a PPV (like the upcoming Mayweather/Mosley fight or last year's Pacquiao/Cotto bout), they're going to attract more buys than two evenly matched elite MMA fighters.
Mayweather/Mosley will do around the same amount of buys as UFC 100, if not more. And that's just based on two fighters. If boxing was smart enough to stack their cards like UFC 100 had done, a fight like Mayweather/Mosley could do up to 2 million buys. A Mayweather/Pacquiao fight could surpass 3 million buys on those two fighters alone -- if it also stacked its cards instead of showcasing mismatches, I don't see how it couldn't achieve 3.5+ million PPVs.
