I can't stop raving about Big Ben. Today, as he has all season, he looked like a polished veteran. On the other side, McNabb reverted to McLimbaugh, especially on a REALLY bad throwaway right into James Farriors belly.

    Roethlisberger just continues to impress.

Adam Vinatieri had more TD passes today than McLimbaugh.

makes me feel much better about their shellacking of the Pats.

I think having Staley, with Bettis spelling him, is a huge upgrade. No idea what kind of #s he's putting up, but it was a tough combo for the Pats. I was never very impressed with Bettis as a feature back. Pats always stopped him by hitting him early and/or forcing him laterally, preventing him from getting any "downhill" speed. Much tougher when he comes in rested in certain situations, however.

Absolutely, 'Dawg! I swear, I was impressed with him in College last year. He really did look like a Pro QB THEN but for what he's doing now is really unprecidented! It really is. Thankfully for him, he has a damn good running game so D's can't fully concentrate on him, BUT even in obvious passing situations when the dogs are coming after him, he has just ................ing AMAZING poise and field sense.

Damn, Big Ben has a helluva future ahead of him.

A lot of "experts" were unsure if Ben could be effective in the NFL.

    They have gotten their answer.

You're right, Miami din't play "top" teams, but everybody they played, they essentially dominated. Even when they got a chance to play Louisville, he dominated them as well. From what I've had a chance to see so far this year he has looked pretty damn tough. But, and I've said this before, I think they're holding him back to some degree. Two of the things that made him dangerous last year are his ability to scramble and his long ball. The Steelers probably don't want him scrambling too much for fear of injury and they're probably being cautious on throwing deep until he learns the coverages better. If they give him more opportunities to utilize his skills, I think he'll REALLY open people's eyes.

Two great wins by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Big Ben, Ben Roethlisberger, beat the Patriots and Eagles. But this was a total team effort.

The Steelers were patient vs. the New England Patriots and they were very physical against Philadelphia.

    Obviously.

It's a long season. A lot can happen. The Steelers run defense hasn't been tested and all rookie QBs will have bad games.

Pittsburgh is the best team in the NFL until they lose. IMO the Patriots are the only team capable of beating them in the playoffs - only if CB Ty Law and RB Dillion are healthy. Pittsburgh has a deep team. DC Dick LeBeau has done a masterful job disguising a secondary that was nothing to write home about at the start of the season. Ben Roethlisberger reminds me of John Elway, a big and mobile QB with a great arm. Not one, but two, big and physical WRs to defend against.

Yes, the Steelers are the team to be in the AFC right now.
