Out of curiosity I just took a look at Nellie's stats so far:
IP 3.1
H 1
R 3
ER 3
BB 1
K 2
ERA 8.10
Not that this means anything this early in the season, but it will be interesting to see what kind of year he has and if he stays healthy.

On his way to the All Star Game
I could just imagine his pouty face.![]()
Cashman still has to explain why they let him go for chump change.
Fear of more bone chips??
Good one CC!! Thanks #1...I was just going to look them up tonight. Great minds think alike.![]()
It's still way too early, but I'm going to be closely watching his stats against lefties which usually ranges from fair to sickening on a year-to-year basis. I don't think we'll miss him one bit.

Slippery Elm,
Michael Kay was on WFAN overnight and he said that the Yanks did research and those with repeat instances of bone chips have a higher occurence of ligament damage.
Further research indicates that players that have frequently been a huge pain to deal with will likely be a huge pain to deal with in the future.
BD...you crack me up sometimes!! Thanks for the laugh!!![]()
BSD - that was great!
"He knew, as he went after that ball, that he had a decision to make," said Tony Clark, who watched the play unfold from first base. "Either you let the ball drop and try to minimize the damage, or you make the catch and pay the consequences. He knew that, no doubt about it, and he chose B."

That was interesting to know I was wondering about that. He started out so awesome for us last year. I still think he was good. It's too bad he had that attitude problem. I don't care to wish him bad only when he plays against us.
