So many of us weighed in on this photo -- we spent days and weeks trying to come up with the answer, but try as we might, we couldn't figure out who the infamous "guy on the left" was.
Well, today, finally, I think I have an answer. I was browsing through ebay and I came across a picture of an old 1938 Yankees World Series program, with cutout headshots of each of the major players. I got all excited because recognized "the guy" right away as the one in that picture, but did a websearch just to make sure. The initial picture is I found too big to attach here, but I did find this one of one of his baseball cards.
And the mystery man is.... [drumroll]....
