Not to hijack this thread, but it is unfair to Bonds to say that. Do you feel the same way about Giambi's 2 HRs in game 7 of the ALCS last year? What Bonds has done over the course of his career is absolutely amazing. He has continued to hit this year, despite all of the Balco contoversy. Picking up the option was a no brainer, he is the biggest draw in all of baseball, he is why SBC Park is filled to capacity every day. Believe me, no one is going to Giants games to see Marquis Grissom and AJ Pierzynski.

The Giants were smart to pick up Bond's option early. He is the face of their franchise and it would be great for them for him to break the record as a Giant. Amazing talent. I show this guy on ESPNews earlier saying that the NL MVP shouldn't go automatically to Bonds. I changed that channel. What a dope.

The Giants would've been dopes to not pick his option up. He is the biggest draw in baseball - when he plays, attendance goes up on the road.

I wonder if he is really going to retire after 2006 - if he is still productive and hits FA and wants to play, I could see an AL team getting him as a DH - and who wouldn't want his monster of a bat there.

I don't care who the player is, even Giambi

If a player is using, they the can go to hell and be kicked out of the game along with all there stats. No one NO ONE is above this game.

Even if they found out he used from 1999-2004, he would still be one of the best players ever. If you take his average HR total from 1986-1998 and add them in instead of what he's done from 1999, he still has 600 homers. He just wouldn't have a chance to break the record. As for the steroids accusations, there will most likely always be questions, but I can't diminish what he's done unless I know for a 100% certainty that he DID use them, which very well might never happen.

Which is why i will never accept Bonds, because we'll most likely never know if he cheated or not. Bash me all you like but like i said i'll always have my suspicions like it or not.
