He's back for another 3 years after his current contract is up - thru 2009 season! This is great news!
(btw, the sarcasm is laid on pretty thick here)

It is appropropriate that since I'm having a 'Boy am I brain dead day" that they bring back Brain Dead Bud.

I'm gonna write a little letter,
gonna mail it to my local DA.
'Cause there's a brand new record
for this corrupt commissioner's stay.
Roll over Doug Pappas, you won't believe the news today.
You know, my temperature's risin'
and my laptop blows a fuse.
My heart's beatin' rhythm
and my soul keeps on singin' the blues.
Roll over Doug Pappas, and tell Zimbalist the news.
I got the baseball pneumonia,
I need a shot of financial truth.
This DC stadium deal, now,
gettin' held up by the zoning review.
Roll over Doug Pappas, they're building 'em two by two.
Well, if you feel you like it
go get your wallet.
Then o-pen it up,
and roll on over.
Jack your sales tax on up
a trifle further.
Feel the hand in your pocket,
but roll on over.
Roll over Doug Pappas, nobody's gonna listen to you.
Well, early in the mornin' I'm a-givin' you a warnin'
don't you step on my contraction moves.
Hey diddle diddle, I am playin' my fiddle,
while the Expos burn and lose.
Roll over Doug Pappas, and tell Omar Minaya he's screwed.
You know he wiggles like a glow worm,
bullys cities and then spins like a top.
He got a crazy partner,
a lawyer who just spews that crock.
But long as Bud got his loans, the nonsense will never stop.
Roll over Doug Pappas,
Roll over Doug Pappas,
Roll over Doug Pappas,
Roll over Doug Pappas,
Roll over Doug Pappas, and dig this term extension news.
Has he done anything good? Seriously?

Otherwise this Bud Selig anti-Yankee, would have SNEAKILY tried to prevent A-Rod from becoming a Yankee and who knows what else.
That's ok. If the Redsox don't win it all this year, please tell me in details why they will win it all next year , or the next ten years.
I LOVE THE YANKEES!!!

I know what kind of pitcher Whitey was and kind of person he is. It makes me feel proud to be a Yankee. We're keeping this in the family. (On breaking Whitey's PS consecutive scoreless innings)
Bud looked pretty foolish pleading Boston's case for A-Rod "in the best interest of baseball."Originally posted by COLOMBIAYANKSFAN

i think its hilarious how all the fans hate him, but his extention was unanimous.... we should definitly get a say in this. What about all that business... no taxation without representation and that good stuff!

http://www.baseballprospectus.com/ar...articleid=3373Bud Selig's the most successful commissioner baseball has ever had. The owners offered him an extension to 2009 because he richly deserves it.
Set aside for a minute your baggage: the steamers of ill will, the wardrobe of dishonesty, the carry-on of personal distaste. The commissioner's job is to advance the interests of the owners he represents, and Selig has done this better than any other. We should no more look at Selig as a representative of a fan's interests than we would expect Dr. Adbul Kalam, President of India, to look after the jobs of San Jose tech industry workers. We should count ourselves lucky that Selig is a fan of the sport at all.
He's had some good ideas. He's just not the slickest cat in the world.
I don't think they should've passed any approval until he settled this Expos stuff.

I thought this article hit it on the head.
Is he around until '06 or '03? He'd mentioned something on S&S a few moments ago, as they'd interviewed him on the radio.
He'd mentioned being proud of having an MLB attendance figure of 57M so far, and it's only the 23rd of August. He'd alsmo mentioned pride that the owners, unions and others weren't making wild accusations all the time.
