It's almost time for UConn football!!!

    Wooooooo-hoooooooo!!!!!

UConn's first season as a Division I conference member is almost upon us. I don't expect a repeat of last year's 9-3 record, but I do think good things are possible as long as future NFL QB Dan Orvlosky stays healthy. A bowl bid is a definite possiblity, although far from assured. All we need is one nice upset.

I was never a college football fan until UConn upgraded it's program a few years ago. I like this new sport

Glad to see someone in New England starting to pay attention to college football. Aside from the occasional ND fan or transplant there aren't many college football fans around the state or New England in general. Hopefully with UConn stepping it up with a new stadium and joining a decent conference it'll get more people interested in CFB. It's a great sport and I'm sure you'll find yourself enjoying it.

Okafor explained afterwards. "I just saw this orange object floating in the air and it said 'grab me'. I grabbed it, spun, saw the rim, thought it would be a good idea to put it in, and that's what I did."

    It starts at 10 AM!

I don't mind noon starts or even 11 AM for New Year's Day bowl games but this is just ridiculous.

I'm sure they just want everyone to be able to get home early for Thanksgiving dinner. It's a long ride home for the Rutgers team and their fans, especially after getting whooped by UConn

Have Thanksgiving Dinner in the parking lot. Certainly would make for an interesting tailgating experience.

Hey, Rutgers actually moved up in SI's preseason rankings... I know it's a stretch but they might make a push for a bowl game this year.

And the Rangers will win the Stanley Cup. Dream on, it ain't happening. I really hope within the next couple of years the BCS removes the Big East's automatic bid to a BCS bowl game. West Virginia will leave to join the SEC or ACC in a few years, I guarantee it.

I kid you not. Rutgers is a team on the rise, at least on the local level. A winning season is not out of the question. I hope Conn-Rutgers becomes a rivalry.
