I don't get a 3 day weekend.
This week sucked. It was a crazy week, we switched around the way we do things, I was sick as a dog all week, the weather was lousy, the traffic was a pain all week.
That said, I think I can endure the next 4 hours until quitting time.
This weekend they will be breaking down the wall between our small work area (an Office and 6 Cubicles) and the small work area next door to expand our area, so we can hire more people. It will also make another Office available so that I can move from the cube farm to my own office. THAT is something to look forward to.

My job sucks today. It's going to be a long 5 hours for me. I'm supposed to be writing documentation but have spent all morning doing diddly.

Finally it is Friday. Thank God. On Wednesday I thought it was Thursday so when I got to work on Thursday and realized it was Thursday (again) I was pissed.
Just think of today as Saturday. Then you will realize tomorrow that you'll have an extra long weekend

I'm back in the Friday thread this week. I tell ya, I wish I was in Florida like last week.
I had monday off for MLK day, and yesterday off for Inauguration Day, but geez, it still seems like quite the long week.
Some crazy stuff going on at work too is keeping me busy. Hopefully, that will mean that the day goes quickly.

The corp. that I worked for only had 120 employees but I was the only payroll person so it was a busy two months. I can't imagine keeping track of 25,000 employee records!
Of course when I did payroll it was on an AS400, way before the days of Microsoft and windows.I used to have to do the 401k plan on spreadsheets in old Lotus 123 for DOS!
Funny how this thead gets new life breathed into it about every 7 days. I've got a 3-day weekend coming up, so I'm getting psyched about that. My wife has 2 12-hour shifts coming up at the hospital so she's getting depressed right about now. Somewhat busy here for a Friday afternoon.......but not busy enough to neglect my posting duties.

I have nothing planned, but I just don't want to be at work. 5 hours to go, and I will take a 1 hour lunch too.

I have nothing special planned for the weekend - just some shopping and spending some time with my steady guy (indoors where it's warm and cozy).
I'm seriously considering retiring in April. I have to meet with my financial advisor (who also happens to be my cousin), and he will let me know if I can afford it. I'm sure I'll be OK since I've been saving 15% of my salary in my company 401K for many years. That, plus my excellent pension, should be enough. I've been at this job for 35 years. It's been a good run, but I think it's time to go.

If it's any consolation, the time passed very quickly. My advice - it's never too early to start saving for retirement. Invest as much as you can. That's what I did, and it has paid off.
