I just wanted to say thanks to all the people who have taken the time this weekend to use the 'report this post' button to alert us to trolls and other problems. When there's such a high volume of activity it's somewhat impossible to cover all the bases, but with your help we've been able to take care of the hot spots a lot faster than we might otherwise.

Other than the fact that it's now a 'Page a Moderator' button, and not a 'Report This Post' button, I agree 100% with Patrick.
Seriously, we really do appreciate all the help from everyone. Reporting inappropriate posts/threads is always the quickest way to get problems taken care of. Your concern helps keep this the best baseball fan site in the world. Thanks!

Hey, Jim, why not just check their fan patronage at the front door? Having a quick exit door may help. You may also wish to see their percentage of ATM:NYY forum posts, just to see what they're doing. If strongly in the ATM, and all they talk about is Bahstunned, then *AWAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY* they go!!!

Although I myself am new to the forum, why not add in a feature to disallow new registrations for 1 day before and after the days of the series against the Redsox? It seems that alone would curtail them from coming here and probably could have avoided a lot of the problems that went on this weekend.

Well, in the past we have disabled registrations for Mets and Red Sox series. This time, however, being 8.5 games up I didn't think it was necessary. Little did I know that there would be something like Saturday to get people to crawl out of their holes and start causing trouble.

In the future registration will probably be disabled for every Sox or Mets series, regardless of the standings.

Sorry, I did not know that you guys have done that in the past. I agree however, no one expected the events this weekend. As to the disabling registrations in the future, that would be a welcome feature indeed going forward. Thanks for all your hard work here mods!

Don't forget that some of these folks think ahead, registering two months in advance. Then they come out of the woodwork, get nuked w/all of 50 posts to their credit.

Why not just nuke all existing Boston fans, also? C'mon, Jim, you can do it!!!
