    Schilling on dan patrick show

I can't stand this guy nor his wife. Back in 2001 that's all mccarver and buck talked about was schilling along with numerous camera shots of his wife. The guy is a jerk. He thinks who the hell he is...and if it wasn't for Mo's errant throw in game 7 , schilling would have no ring. Anybody hear the balance of the interview... All i heard was he cant wait to start the first game back against the yanks in two weeks, and that the only thing that would stop the sux from going to the series is injuries. Already making excuses. I hope we crush him....Lets get RJ and shove him down Curts throat...

Well, I for one certainly expected him to come on the show, tell everyone how afraid he was of the yankees and that the Sox have no shot.

    WOW!

Lots of venom, there. It's the all star break, settle down a little.

What did you expect him to say?

He did mention that the Yankees are 7 games better than the Sox.

I thought the interview was OK.

Oh, and this belongs in ATM where it will be moved right......... now.

It was in there. You just need to transcribe his interview responses (carefully transliterating to Southern Alaskan vernacular), put the letters in traditional cryptographic groups of 5, and then pick out the words "I Fear the Yankees. We are Doomed." as an acrostic.

Simple as that. He knows that team is done like dinner, and I'm glad he was man enough to admit it so plainly.

Oh yes, here is partial transcript of their interview

Dan Partick: So Curt, you are a Red Sock now, how does it feel?

Curt: It feels good to be part of the great tradition of being in second place.

Dan Patrick: So Shonda, how do you feel?

Shonda Schilling: I feel your kids should wear sunscreen while outside for more than 20 minutes.

Dan Patrick: Absolutly, so Curt, how do you feel about the Sox playoff chances?

Curt Schilling: If the Yankees don't make the playoffs, die in a plane crash or contract a massive outbreak of parasites, we will be fine.

Dan Patrick: What are your thoughts on Randy Johnson

Curt Schilling: I should have been the sole MVP in the 2001 World Series

Dan Patrick: And rightfully so. Do you think he will go to the Yankees?

Curt Schilling: Yes I want to go there

Dan Patrcik: Curt, we are talking about Randy Johnson....

    Curt Schilling: He is tall.

Dan Patrick: It seems that you always duck the issue about your so called "feud" with RJ

Curt Schilling: I think right now our main goal is to be the greatest team ever.

Dan Patrick: Eloquently said. Are you happy with the success your husband is having Shonda?

Shonda Schilling: ALS is a deadly disease that cripples kids, woman, children, men and young people every day. Join the Red Sox wives in benefitting the CSAAALSAORBD (Curt Schilling Americans Against ALS and other Really Bad Diseases).

Dan Patrick: Its always a pleasure

As you can tell, they are both terrible people

"He knew, as he went after that ball, that he had a decision to make," said Tony Clark, who watched the play unfold from first base. "Either you let the ball drop and try to minimize the damage, or you make the catch and pay the consequences. He knew that, no doubt about it, and he chose B."

If outspokeness is an attribute of being a jerk, then fine. However, keep in mind that Curt has numerous charitable foundations he runs and to which he donates thousands of dollars per year too. That is something that cannot be said of many players.

The fact that you claim Mo's error resulted in Curt's ring sure sounds like an excuse, so do not call out Curt for making them, which he didn't to begin with.

The man can back up what he says, as he has been one of the most outstanding pitchers of the first half of this season, nevermind his career. I can't wait to see Curt start against the Yankees. He's a competitor, and to rank on a guy for getting excited to start against his rival is ridiculous.

Give me a break. You're making a big deal over this. And if I remeber correctly if it wasnt for a couple of blown saves by Kim the Yankees were done in 5. Even with two blown saves the yankers still lost. I'm not trying to be angry towards the yankees who I have a lot of respect for but comments like this are not called for.

um, any reasons he's a jerk, other than looking forward to starting against a rival and looking forward to win it all? isn't that what you want from a player? (or maybe you hate the charity work he does or something like that)

Well I, for one, loved it.

Yankee fans are the last people on Earth that should be complaining about Joe Buck and Tim "I love Jeter's man-seed" McCarver.

Last year's ALCS was a Yankees love fest as was that early game that Fox broadcast this year.

Hey listen... leave your sick, stupid-ass, homophobic Jeter slurs outside the door, Turd.

Disagree with the poster all you want, but this crap you just spewed is NOT welcome here.

    Dammit.

As I said earlier to another snarling Red Sox fan post...

    Bitter, bitter, bitter.

And please stop with the homophobic comments. They don't say much for your masculinity.

With all due respect, there are quite a few posts with comments about players that could be considered homophobic. Then again, those are the ones made by Yankees fans so those must be ok.

Oh please. Do a keyword search through all of the posts and you'll find numerous posts making fun of Red Sox players for hugging, for Millar coloring his hair, etc. And you cannot tell me that Jeter isn't McCarver's binky. EVERYONE knows that.

You can't honestly be trying to say that McCarver doesn't fawn all over Jeter, are you?

First of all, I'm not a troll. Secondly, when McCarver openly states in interviews that Jeter is his favorite player and when he does the commentary on Yankees games, constantly praises every single twitch that Jeter makes, Jeter isn't his binky? Come on now. It was so bad during the ALCS that writers across the country were commenting on it. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'm just saying that it's undeniable.

It's sad how some rational, intelligent discussions on the game degenerate into ones like this. Anyone have any comments on Curt?? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

First of all.... you ACT like a troll.

What is it you don't understand about standards here?
You are NOT free to make homophobic remarks about players.

    Get it?
    That means you.
That means calling Jeter "McCarver's binky".

Make all the arguments you want about McCarver being biased. That's fine. That's acceptable.

Your other Idiotic statements are NOT acceptable.

"I'm just saying that it's undeniable".
    Really? Here's what's undeniable.
You'll be outta here before your 10th post if you don't recognize that your posts are unacceptable.

I'm confused as to what Schilling was supposed to say in that interview. He's looking forward to pitching against the Yankees and thinks the Sox will take the series. The bigger problem would have been if he hadn't said that. It's pretty bad taste to make fun of his wife, a cancer survivor, because she encourages people to wear sunscreen.

  35. #35
Dan Patrick: So what do you think of Derek Jeter, Curt

Curt Schilling: You know, he plays baseball, gets paid a lot of money for it. Sometimes he hits the ball, and sometimes he doesn't.

Dan Patrick: Great analysis, does McCarver overplay Jeter's abilities

Curt Schilling: Derek Jeter plays hard

Dan Patrick: Fascinating. How do you feel about Derek, Shonda

Shonda Schilling: I am going to talk with Jessica Alba at the All-Star game and see if she can convince Derek to come play for the Red Sox

    Dan Patrick: Oh you Schillings

I have no idea what the heck is going on in this thread, but I'm seeing all sorts of inappropriate posts... comments to other members, comments about the media, about players... It's all bad.

I suggest everyone re-read the Community Standards / Posting Guidelines before you start posting again.

I blame Larry Lucchino for that.
Because the Marlins are appealing this verdict and because I know very little about the actual case other than the verdict, I can not comment yet on this. And I'm not going to comment on ridiculous remarks from a pitcher. Tying two inaccurate things together is something I should expect from no-name imbeciles. - John W. Henry, Owner, Boston Red Sox
