In tonight's game thread I saw some very troubling dialog. And I saw some users that I would typically call level-headed acting like fools tonight.

I saw someone state that Mussina was injured. Considering he left the game because of a groin problem, that's a fair statement. However, since this particular poster had a Red Sox-related username, they were raked across the burning cinders and accused of inciting and baiting.

Hello?!? McFly!! All the user said was that Mussina was injured. Nothing more, nothing less. How that can be construed as "baiting", I have no idea.

If anyone has had issues with this poster in the past, the posts in question should be reported to the moderators. Taking the matter into your own hands and "defending" the Yankees by ripping another user to shreds is NOT appropriate.

I saw lots of comments about "this is our board", "get your own board", etc. Guess what - it's my board. And it is open to fans of ALL teams. If they want to participate in the game thread they're welcome to. Anyone who tells someone they're not allowed to post here (for any reason) is at risk of losing their membership permanently, and we don't want that.

There are remedies for any problems you have: reporting a post or the ignore list. I strongly urge ALL the game thread regulars to start utilizing these methods instead of becoming game thread vigilanties and embarassing yourself and the entire community with your comments.

I've had to suspend two quality members tonight - and I probably could have justified suspending more people. I don't want to have to keep suspending people due to comments made in the game thread. If this sort of thing persists, the game thread forum will be shut down - and I won't hesitate to do it as you all know.

If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
