Damnit, Pokey is good in the field. He would solve the Yanks 2B situation.

Thank goodness Kay isn't around to point out that Reese made a good play to end the last inning and is leading off here ...

Different rooms for TV and comp, runnin back and forth.....Pedro baffles me. As we saw to end that inning, he IS capable of turning it on when he needs to (fastballs in the low to mid 90's nonstop with 2/3 no out). But if he is capable, why not more often or earlier in the game? I honestly don't know. Its as if he just cannot get himself warmed up for the first few innings of games. That seems to be a consistent trend all year so far. We shall see what happens....catch y'all in a bit. This is gonna be a wild one for sure.

I don't think JoJo's been in the Game Threads since the last time everyone ganged up on her for her negativity ...

He stole that from Phi Rizzuto, who did it with far more charm.

Very bad outing. I just thank god Terry yanked him before he could face Vlad 'MVP' Guerrerro again. Feels like its been a while since Timlin pitched. I hope he's sharp. (Williamson on the DL is KILLING us right now).

Whaaaat..??? Come on ...she's about as negative as you are. Ok..maybe more at times...but that's never stopped either one of 'you'se" before?!...
I must have missed that GT...I have to admit, I've given her...as well as you...a 'jab' every once in awhile. But to 'gang up' on a 'poster'....that's uncalled for...

    OH MY!!!!....Francona makes a visit!!...BuuuByeee Paaaaid-Fro....LETS GO ANGELS!!!!! Hello...Mike Timlin...

Pedro always seems to not get the loss. It's definitely not over though, only 1 run. Hopefully K-Rod can go 2 innings again, but Percival has been struggling badly.

Amazing we escaped there with it still being a 1 run game. I'll say it again, not having Williamson hurts BAD right now.

Not having a manager who knows when to pull a tired pitcher hurts too.

It's not...'why didn't we sign him'?....It was all about him not wanting to play on the 'stage'...ie NY YANKEES..and the pressure it brings. And I don't blame him one bit.
Trust me....we'lll be fine ... without him...As tonight has proved. Sheffield....Vlad.....it's all good!...

No, George wanted his homeboy, Sheff.

And Vlad didn't want "us"....and made that pretty clear last year before the season was even over....In any case...I think we've both (Yankees/Angels) come away with a pretty good deal.

Btw..."George" is from Cleveland....so if you're gonna get a 'homeboy' lets go after Omar Vizquel....to play 2B....

    Yeah I know he's old...but we're soooo into that aren't we?....

That's not the what I've read. They never made him an offer.

According to all reports, Cashman and Michael wanted Vlad, but the Tampa contingent wanted Sheff. Ultimately, George let the NY faction pick the pitchers, while he and his group picked the hitters (except for A-Rod, who was a consensus pick).

There were reports in the NY papers that Vlad would have signed here. Remember the old days when George would court a prospective free agent. Why not try that? Show him the Latin neighborhoods; convince him that his mom would be happy here; have Jeter and Bernie call him. That never happened.

George left Cleveland in the rear view mirror. Tampa is now his town. He wanted Sheff.

Would be nice if Foulke could give up a run.. I think he's only given up 1 all season.

I gotta say I think Vlad tried to pull a Webber on us, you felt from the start he didn´t wanna be here but then as the free agent period started to approach he did say he would mind playing here but I believe that was an attempt by his agent to higher his price, however with some presuadtion we might have gotten him to play here despite the fact that we wern´t his first choice like the Rangers did with Theo Fleury however would Vlad have been as good then if his heart wasn´t 100% set on the Yanks?
Sheff wanted to be here with all his heart IMO and therefore we got him, I think Sheff will come around and we wont miss not having Vlad so much the only thing that irks me is that Vlad is just 28 but like I said I don´t think his heart was set on the Yanks so even if we would have gotten him not sure his numbers would be the same as they are with the Angels.

I must say, the Angels were on a tear when they played the Yankees earlier this season, and they were playing well when Boston came into town...

The Yankees taking 4 of 6 from this Anaheim team is pretty impressive (IMO) especially seeing them put a hurtin' on the Sox like they have...

While I fully expect Boston to be there for most of the season, this Anaheim team is just more scary to me.

Vlad now has 9 RBIs. Sick.

You know things aren't going well & your bullpen ain't what you want it to be when you bring in the closer in the *7th inning*! Yup, Foulke is now pitching for the Sox...at least per Sportsline. Tee hee hee.

And the first Angel up against him got a hit.

BTW, the usually entertaining folks on SoSH are having a collective meltdown right now...just thought I'd let everyone know...

Vlad must be approaching a record. Is the record 11 for a nine inning game?

I hope people will realize through this game Keith Foulke isn't that good. All hes gone up against is the garbage. His first game against a good team this year and hes getting smoked...

Guererro's performance tonight is the best I've ever seen...

Eckstein is putting on quite a show himself going 5 for 5...
