EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New Jersey Devils coach Pat Burns has colon cancer and will immediately begin treatment, he said Sunday, a day after the defending Stanley Cup champions were knocked out of the playoffs.
Burns, 52, said his status with the team will be determined in six to eight weeks, when the treatment ends. He will undergo treatment five days a week beginning this week, he said.Get well soon coach.

i wish him all the best. cancer just plain (stinks) My mom has been in remission from leukemia for 6 years and I would never wish it on anybody. I hope he will have a quick recovery.

When I heard about the press conference last night and they said it was not hockey related, I just had a bad feeling about it. Very sad, I hope he gets better really soon.
