    Anaheim pitchers losing velocity?

I don't get to see much of the Angels -- except on highlights -- but Peter Gammons has mentioned a few times recently that many of their starting pitchers have lost a tremendous amount of velocity, as much as 8 MPH.

He didn't mention anyone specifically, so I am not sure who he is referring to.

Without anyone feeling the urge to throw in the obligatory Gammons insults, does anyone know what he is talking about here?

I dont really know either, but I saw the friday Hudson/Colon matchup. Colon gave up 3 runs on 3 homers and had 6 other hits in 8 IP. Washburn did mediocre the next day, pitching only 5 innings, giving up 2 runs. Maybe he's talking about Colon and Washburn, but it was only one game each so that would be a big amount of speculation. As far as their velocity goes, Colon does sometimes tone down his heat a few mph below normal but he's done that before so it's not really anything new.

I watch them on MLB Extra Innings and they seem fine to me. More relieable at least, then some of the starting pitching we have.
