    Serious question

Can someone explain to me how this fantasy league hoo-hah works? I've looked a few places on the web, and I can't really...understand it. They have it for all sports, correct?

What's the deal, can someone explain slowly, like you were talking to a five year old?

Basically it's like you have the power to be the owner/GM/manager all at once. You scout the players, you draft the players, you make necessary moves. You get points for various stuff...hits, rbis, etc. The objective is to outscore your opponent for the week if you're doing it head to head...or just plain score as much as you can if you're playing in a league where the scores are cumulative.

    Hope that makes sense.

So then...are most people's fantasy teams pretty similar? Because you would obviously pick the cream of the crop.

Well, that really depends on the size of your league. Yeah, you can pick from the cream of the crop if you have like 6 teams in your league, but if it's a big league, like the forum league with 18 teams, the talent pool for some positions may become kinda shallow (e.g., catchers). So in that scenario, you just have to figure out what position you want to draft when in order to ensure the best players for each position possible.

No one can pick the same players in one league. Once someones drafted, they're gone. So, in different leagues there can be similar teams, but not in the same league.
