Keisler was at the same workout that Orlando was at. He huddled with the Met brass for 30 minutes, may accept a minor league deal and an invite to ST.Goldis would like to sign as many ex-Yanks as he can, they know how to win in his eyes.

Let the Mets have both of those losers. I hated them both in pinstripes. Especially Spencer (the "Poor Man's Kevin Maas").Originally posted by Michaels07

Whatever happened to Keisler? He was drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round, but then he hurt his shoulder, and then I think I remember he got bitten by a snake or something horrible like that...talk about a guy who was cursed with bad luck.
And pulled a Shane Spencer by complaining how the Yankees were treating him. :rolleyes:Originally posted by derekjeter916

Huh...I guess it's no coincidence that the Mets were interested in both of them, then.Originally posted by bakntime

I'd love to see those two stiffs on the Mets.
If I had 3 wishes... One of my wishes would be to make a select few of you Pirates Fans.
A Garcia/Spencer platoon in RF makes sense for the Mets.

Randy was rehabbing his arm and then was bittten by a rattle snake. That was the last straw for the Yanks. The arm needed to get to full strength to see what he has.
A scout said he wasn't too impressed with left-hander Randy Keisler, a former Yankee who also threw at the University of Miami on Thursday.
Reportedly, the Mets seemed very interested. "To me it looked like he threw a bullpen [session]," the scout said of Keisler, who threw 84-87 mph. "If he were an amateur, most organizations wouldn't want to sign him. The fact he has major league experience intrigues a few teams."

Garcia should win the job outright. If not, Raul Gonzalez should play over Spencer (if they do sign Spencer). Gonzalez is not great, but he's young and Spencer is dead weight.Originally posted by WIZ

The Mets got Todd Zeile. That sentence alone speaks enough.Originally posted by Irabu's Son

What are they trying to do, construct an entire team of ex-Yanks?
Global Warming and climate change hysteria could well represent the historical pinnacle of collective insanity.
If they were going for an All-Yanks-Reject squad, they should have gone after Bubba Trammell. They're interested in Duque too, I think I read somewhere.Originally posted by nyyfanatic85

The Mets are a lost cause.

IIRC, he was more cursed by a bad attitude.Originally posted by derekjeter916

Spencer signed with the Mets today.
I have a feeling that Spencer will do well in the NL ....especially with the Mets. It also gives them a pretty good defensive outfielder along with Garcia.
I firmly believe Spencer had the talent. What got in his way was a lack of maturity.
After being with three organizations in two years and now getting to the Mets, maybe he can pull it together.
