You may be able to tell from my Subject line that I am a long time Yankee fan. As a child I used to to love to hear Mel Allen excitedly call homers by Mantle, Maris, Yogi and Howard. I grew up in NYC (Greenwich Village) and LI in the 50s and 60s and attended my first game at the stadium in 63 (approx) where with the help of a well timed body block by my brother-in-law, I grabbed a foul ball hit by Bobby Richardson! That event seems to have sealed my great love for the Yanks and still fills me with pride when I see that classy top hat and cane logo of my favorite team.
Any way, great to be here among the rest of you Yankee fans.
