The biggest joke in MLB: AL Central

Talk about a cesspool. In winning games 2-4 the Yankees exposed the lowly Twins in the ALDS. Now the Twins lost the heart of their bullpen and Eric Milton.
The ChiSox lost Colon and are about to trade Mags to the Red Sox that will eventually land (most likely) Odalis Perez who's no prize.
The Royals haven't improved - if you call head case Mondesi over Ibanez improvement. By standing pat, KC might win by default.
The Tribe is still rebuilding and the Tigers are the Tigers.

    Prediction:
1 - KC - If they struggle out of the gate, those Beltran trade rumors will heat up.
2 - MN - Pen will cost them in '04. Re-signing Stewart was a good move but won't be enough.
3 - Cle - Not ready yet but getting there.
4 - Chisox - The window of opportunity shut on their fingers - they blew it.
    5 - Det - Patience is a virtue.

The saddest of all is that a team like Baltimore or Toronto would win the Central by 20 plus games. Both are doomed by virtue of being stuck in the same division as the Yankees and Boston...

The weak get weaker... The AL Central will again be a "battle" between the ChiSox and the Twinkies. Cleveand may make a run at them, but really, the Central champ will be whoever sucks the least.

I agree. It's ridiculous. I think they should restructure the playoffs: 4 best teams in each league go to the playoffs, not best from each league. Last yr should have been Seattle, Sox, Yanks, and As, NOT the Twins. That's why the division thing really needs to be remodeled...

Is anyone actually going to win this division? I mean, it looks horrible right now...and of course, the playoffs will come around and the AL Central team will win the whole thing.

That remains to be seen. But next year they will most likely be terrible again, as will the rest of their division.
