okay so my question didn't get answered. I notice people asking trivia questions. maybe I don't know how to do it. The answer is Ron Guidry who went 22-8 for the Yanks in either the 70's or 80's. I can't remember which.
I think it's the way the question was worded. If you had asked what Yankee's record was Pettite trying to break, perhaps the response you were looking for would have been forthcoming. We're not trying to be difficult, I know I just didn't understand the question.
