I remeber it but don't remember it.
Its got to do something with the Scooter mistaking Coggins for Bonds or something along that line.

Yeah, that's basically it.

Bonds had been on the DL for a while, and had come off the DL, but really wasn't ready to play. The Yanks were in a close game, and sent Rich Coggins (who had almost been rookie of the year with Baltimore in '73, but never did anything after that) up to pinch hit. It was a Sunday afternoon game, and the stadium was packed. Coggins wore #26 and Bonds #25 (or the other way around?) and the crowd went NUTS as Coggins walked to the on-deck circle.

White: "I can't understand why the fans are so excited about Coggins"
Scooter: "Ya know, White, I think they think it's Bobby Bonds!"
White: "Why?....Does Coggins look like Bonds?"
Scooter: long pause. "Well" another pause "I was gonna say they all look alike, but I don't think I will."

White laughed so hard that he couldn't say anything for about two innings.

God, those two were funny.
