Tejada thought that ball 3 was actually ball 4, and tried to take first base on it during this first innings. He had a good laugh about it, but does anyone else think that Miguel has really hurt his free-agent prospects this year? An ice-cold start and several misplays in the ALDS, plus he's generated almost no production. I can see his contract value going down as we speak.

In other news, bases loaded with no-one out in the top of the second.

Hey Sax. Didn't see that - went to get coffee (I guess you've got a pot by you?). Agree about Tejada.

Single. 1-0 As - still loaded.

  5. #5
Byrnes just missed that going fair. Durn wind!!

  6. #6
Useless. He makes the 1st out w/bases loaded.

  7. #7
Out no. 2, still loaded.

  8. #8
    Come on, Eu!

  9. #9

Loaded, no outs - 3 pop ups. Come on, Boston - take it to 5.

Oakland doesn't want to win it seems. Loading the bases with no outs and getting only one run only serves to inspire the opposition.

  11. #11
    Greeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaattttttttttttttt!!

Now Hudson is out and the Sox faithful cheer!

    Steve Sparks in.

  12. #12
Hudson is coming out of the game.

Now Oakland could easily choke away that 2-0 series lead, especially after only getting 1 run last inning.

I would like the A's to win it today, just becuase I don't want to face the Red Sox and with Pedro going tomorrow they have a chance to win it...

If the A's lose this series, they will be the biggest choking franchise ever.

What, would they be 0-5, 0-6 in the ALDS? Hello, Buffalo Bills!

Boston fans have been whining and whining about the curse. What the heck is going on now? They are getting this series on a silver platter!

  17. #17
I'm sure a lot of Oakland fans would like to be in a room w/Byrnes right now.

I hope so too. I heard Jon Miller say they're 0 for something in games they can clinch the ALDS in the last few years, which is an MLB record.

Hudson's hip is the problem. What's with the As pitchers and their hips? First Mulder, now Hudson?

  20. #20
Come on, Manny - how about a K?

    I said K, not hit.

The new A's pitcher was released by the Tigers this year.

Knuckleballer Steve Sparks (38 years old). They're doomed if that's the best they got in the pen.

The A's are going to lose this game, and there will be a game five in Oakland on Tuesday.

  24. #24
    Come on, Ortiz - DP.

I'll take the out. Come on, Millar - pony down!

Its contagious! All I know is that they better stay away from Zito!

    Lets go A's!

Oh, and how ironic is it the Sox troll comes over and bitches at us about "class" right before they cheer when Hudson is hurt?

I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.

  27. #27
Nice catch, Hatteburg. Nice going, Sparks - keep it up.

  28. #28
    Hudson - left oblique strain.

    1 2 3 for Burkett.

  29. #29
No way Oakland wins this series.

I think they'll win game five, and good thing, too. If Boston were in the ALCS, they'd sweep the three home games, any way they can.

Mueller drops the ball at third and the runner is called out. Why not just end the game now?

    These A's are very depressing.

Okay, I'm tired of defending these hapless chokers.

The A's are the Phil Mickelson's of baseball and can't adavance past the first round to save their lives.

Oh, and Eric Chavez should try hitting the ball with his 3 gold gloves. Might have better luck.

  35. #35
    Boston - 2 hits through 5.

  36. #36

Melhuse should be catcher more often.

    They smell blood.

EDIT: It looks like they heard my anti-Oakland rant.

  41. #41
At least Jermaine Dye came to play! C'mon A's!

Wakefield in to pitch. Byrnes singles.

  43. #43
You have to figure they'll bring in Foulke for a 2-inning save, IF they can hang on.

The Sox defense has been getting some huge breaks today. Lots of line drives right at infielders.

  45. #45
    Rincon pitching.

  46. #46
    frickin Todd Walker. 4-3 As.

All of those hugs are scary.

Hi guys. Here we go again.

  49. #49
    Ortiz. Stay cold.

Manny was having a fun time joking around with the ump. He probably thinks *they* are up by a game.

Manny? you're no babe. Enough of the pointing.
