NY Daily News & NY Post Yankee specials

This week (Sept 1-5), the NY Daily News has a special Yankee color pullout special for each day, as done by Bill Gallo.

Next week, the NY Post has something, but I'm not sure what it is.

    Sorry f/the late notice.

Serious factual error by myself. This series is going from Mon-Sat, and from 9/2 - 9/26. Yesterday's was the first and that was Yogi's. Today's is Jack Chesbro. Others pictured in the paper as upcoming include:

Earle Combs, Bill Dickey, JoeD, Whitey, Gehrig, Waite Hoyt, Miller Huggins, Reggie, Herb Pennock, Scooter.

The Post has 4 sections next week but with my short term memory loss, I cant remember what they are. One is on the Mick, one on Pinstripe Power the other two who knows?

It wasn't in the Post I picked up this morning. I'll have to buy one again later.

I just read the first installment of "The Yankees Century" from the Post, and it was very entertaining, particularly the section on Babe Ruth by Creamer. Some of those photos I had never seen before. The fact that these are being issued in a magazine style format rather than newsprint is an added plus.

I saw 3 issues of the monday Post and none of them had anything in them as far as glossy photos. What is it I was supposed to have gotten?

I would assume the Post. The security was pretty tight when they were printed so there's none left at my dad's work

In the 42nd St area (Grand Central & Times Sq), I've gotten the NY Post w/special inserts. Yesterday (Tue, 9/9) had The Mick on its cover; today's (Wed, 9/10) had Jeter on the cover. In the afternoons, they're 25¢, and even the Times is also half-priced.

If anyone wants me to pick up an extra copy f/them, just PM me and we'll work it out.

The post series appears to be ended, but those were great little multi-paged inserts. On glossy paper, too!!!

    The Daily News' pullout continues.

What's been in the Daily News pullout? Is there a link on their website or something? Thanks.

They' ve been running Bill Gallo posters of all the Yankee Hall of Famers with a drawing by Gallo , a photo and summary of their careers.
Its started 9/2 and is finishing up on Friday.

One of the guys at work has been giving them to me.
    There are only three left.
I dont know if they are offering them.

No links that I could find. The only links I've ever had to any of Gallo's drawings ae contained in the "Yankee Artwork" thread in YD.

Not directly related, but for people who can get local delivery, the NY Daily News is offering all 26 championship insert photos if you get home delivery @ $1.99/wk: 800-692-NEWS.

I'm unsure if the offer is available online, but here's their Home Delivery website: http://www.nydailynews.com/services/delivery/
