"We understand that John Henry must be embarrassed, frustrated and disappointed by his failure in this transaction. Unlike the Yankees, he chose not to go the extra distance for his fans in Boston. It is understandable, but wrong that he would try to deflect the accountability for his mistakes on to others and to a system for which he voted in favor. It is time to get on with life and forget the sour grapes."
This is really going to kill the Manchester United ratings on YES.
It's really going to kill Manchester, England in general, too...

Well they're gonna take that $25 M pounds and put it toward Ronaldino and another young stud. They may make out better for it.Originally posted by wexy

And the ratings will be there, Man U are the Yankees of soccer.

If this team is the Yankees of soccer, why then would they not have just put the $25M pounds towards Ronaldino and kept Beckham as well? I admit that I know nothing about soccer, but selling a player for cash does not sound like a Yankee esque move.Originally posted by koko

I'd heard about this on YES yesterday. They'd said that while Beckham was known for his flashy lifestyle and awesome moves, he wasn't necessarily the best player. Is Ronaldino considered a better player?
