    Hello

    I'm a huge Yankee fan all the way from the other side of the world - Finland. Baseball gets practically no attention back here - excluding the World Series which TV stations have occasionally been covering (the 2000 Subway Series is the last WS I've seen). I have been a Yanks fan for about 10 years now so ya can't call me a gloryhunter since I've been following the team during the non-championship era as well. I'm also a big Rangers and Giants fan so the Yankees are actually my only hope of something better sportswise, LOL ...I missed the awesome beginning of this season due to military duties so I this season hasn't been feeling that great for me yet.

    No, I'm from Finland and in the Finnish army altho I've been out of there for a weeks now, but might go back some day.

    They are having an Aki Kaurismaki film retrospective
    at the Brooklyn Academy of Music Cinematek this month.
    They're showing the Lenningrad Cowboy movies , The Match Factory Girl , Drifting Clouds and Juha.

    Only one I've seen is Lenningrad Cowboys. Any movie I should really go see??

    Juha is said to be one of the best Finnish movies ever made but personally I didn't get much out of it.

    Leningrad Cowboys & the Red Army Choir are worth seeing.
