If you go to the Tampa Yanks stats on BA, not only will you see monster start stats for Cano, you will see a remarkable stat. Remember the above article talks about the need for Cano to learn the strike zone- we might be suprised to see that in 34 AB's Cano has 0- that's right, zero, K's! On the down side, he also has only 1 walk. That means he's a real hacker, but he knows what pitch he wants.
The only thing I can read into this is that guys are actually pitching to him, figuring he can't get them (the old Bull Durham thing). In a week or two, he probably sees nothing but offspeed breaking stuff- then we'll see how much control he has over the strike zone- but until then- wow!
