Well, brother, as you already know, I am one, although my interest in football pales considerably next to baseball and basketball.

    Finally......

After leaving NY for sunny Florida in 1993, I had to do without seeing Jet games except when the played the ::gag::
Dolphins ::gag::........Thanks to their great 98 season and strong finish after a bad start in 99, they have gotten lots of national coverage this year.....Tonight they are on Sunday Night Football.....YES, there is a god.

Whattaya mean, Jim - "finally"?!? Haven't I always been here?!?

Go Jets!! Is anyone as nervous about tonight as I am? I feel this game will be very important as far as the rest of the season goes.

Ally....I agree, tonight will play a big part in determining just how far this team can go.I'd feel a whole lot better about it if they were playing at home tonight.

I take back what I said in the cynicism post - the Jets are out to get me, they are literally trying to make me old before my time!!!

The Jets is my most favorite NFL team, then the Rams. Go Vinny and Curtis!!

They didn't get back on track - playing catch up caught up to the Jets .... all of a sudden a great season looks very questionable ... and why is all the pressure just on Vinny??

Vinny's performance in the first 3 quarters of most games this year is what has the pressure on HIM.

Your point of it not being just Vinny's fault is well taken though......Defense has been stinking up the joint as well in first 3 quarters.....Probably enough blame to go around.....After further review, from coaching staff right on down I'm hoping for a better effort this week.

    Jets Drown The Fish

A stellar performance by the Jets defense...They knocked fish quarterback out of the game on the very first play from scrimmage, then forced 4 turnovers to give the offense plenty of opportunities....Two late interceptions by Jet rookies turned a close game into a 17 point win.....I have unofficially awarded the game ball to the entire Jets defense....I HATE THE FISH !!!!! (not a popular attitude here in FL...hahaha)

It truly was a beautiful thing!!! I'm a little concerned, though - Martin has a sprained back? I was in the laundromat for that, so I'm not sure of the seriousness of the injury, but it doesn't sound good!

But it is always nice to beat the Fish!! Vinny, despite the two interceptions, looked good, too - I liked those short passes! Let's hope this will turn the rest of the season around!

That win definitely put a smile on my face!! And Vinny did look good ... but I credit the defense for playing a great game ... Like you said Ally - hope this is the spark we need ....

If the Jets beat the Bears, the Colts beat the fish, and the Bills lose to the Bucs, there's a 3-way tie for AFC East lead....Throw in a Bills win and its a 4-way tie....The plot thickens....Pete Rozelle's parity project is alive and well.

Nice win, indeed.....Too bad Colts defense blew it at the end of the game, and let the fish win.

I am a Giants fan but I really like watching the Jets. Anyway, I was watching the sports report on the news last night and they showed footage of the Jets' press conference from Sunday. Some reporter gets called on to ask a question and he goes and calls Al Groh - "Bill". He must have felt like such an idiot!!! I mean, it's bad enough that Al Groh has to crawl out from under Parcells' shadow (just like every Giants coach has had to do - unsuccessfully, I might add - since 1991) but they can't even get the guy's name right after 15 weeks of football??? Although, my husband's grandfather continually calls me "Jennifer" - the name of my husband's EX-fiancee from about six years ago - I wonder if that reporter is as senile as grandpa?? []

FIRST I am neither a JETS OR GIANTS man, I am an old RAIDERS fan, CLIFF BRANCH catching 70 yard bomb's, but I may say between THE JETS AND GIANTS, THE JETS will go farther than THE GIANTS, THE SKINS are gonna whack THE GIANTS tommorow in fact the game will be over around the 3rd quarter. FASSEL does not impress me, they need a real coach.

Jets win!!!!! Sets up a great Jet/Raider matchup next week...Then Lions and Ravens.....Gonna be a tough three weeks....If they win the division or merely get a wild card, they're gonna have to play well the rest of the way.

Would you like a glass of water to help wash those words down? Perhaps some salt and pepper to make them taste better? THE GIANTS ARE OFFICIALLY FOR REAL!!!!!

YEAH, there defense played great, no doubt gotta give them credit, I was never a GIANTS MAN, never had anything against them, they still do not impress me as a superbowl team, I AM waiting for my RAIDERS to rebound next week, after a tough loss to a stingy STEELERS defense , COWHER is one hell of a coach, he has nobody on that team, or should I say no superstars and he still find's a way to get it done, a 7-6 team who should be 10-3 w/ the officials bad judgement's. BOTH the RAIDERS-JETS, GIANTS-STEELERS are gonna be nasty games.

And congrats to all you Giant fans - first I hate the Redskins for reasons I cannot get into - and your defense was awesome ....

THE AFC has some very good team's, I gotta admit THE JETS are for real they played the best ball in the 2nd half last year in the afc, this year they are not playing to bad 9-4 beat some good teams also. THE DOLPHINS are tough, there defense is scary, they went right into ORCHARD PARK and beat them soundly even if FLUTIE would of started it would not of made a diffrence, DAVE has finally got a defense , not like in CHICAGO, this guy is a defense of a genius, you all saw what he did in DALLAS, he's a good coach, and finally has a decent team to manage. MY RAIDERS are playing good this year, we finally took care of KC, but DENVER is another team to watch out for, DENVER as much as I hate them, are gonna be a team to watch for in the playoff's, and I hope we get a chance to play them, I want the RAIDERS to be the team to nail them.

All-righty then! I don't know, I think it's going to be a real battle tonight, but I don't think the Jets are going to roll over and let the Raiders have their way with them - I see this one going down to the wire (hopefully with better results than the last time that happenned!).

Also, let's all thank Keyshawn's new team for doing us a big favor and beating the Fish today! Can you hear the sigh of relief?!?

    Let's Go Jets!!

BTW, nice job by the Giants again today, and finally, a win at home!

Jets need another big game from the defense tonight....The defense has allowed only 3 TD's in last 14 quarters....If they can keep the Raiders score down, the Jets could steal this one....First place looms.

Hey, Jim, you know I bleed green and white during football season, but it is my lot in life to be married to a Giants fan, so I gotta keep peace on the homefront!

Let's hope Sunday night was a wakeup call for the guys and they come out and kick some Lion butt this weekend!
