    Blast From the Past

One of the perqs of getting to the game early so you can relax and watch things develop. I had my drink, I had eaten a dog, I had my program dated and ready to go, when the teams came out to share their lineups. Representing the Texas Rangers:

    YANKEE BASEBALL!!!

P.S. I was totally torn as to which forum to post this in, but mentioning old Yanks in Yankee History & Tradition has not been received well, and I really didn't think it needed to be in current Yankee Discussion

I remember being able to go to YS and watch the YANKEES take BP. No more.

Thanks for posting that, Knuckles. Butch was raised near here. He had some personal problems which led to the Yankees getting rid of him. I'm glad to hear that he's still involved with the Game and hopefully doing much better.

I really no have no desire to know any more than I ever did. It is none of my business. But I do recall that he was placed on the "Unable to Perform" list before he was replaced. He was a better than average player on some pretty average teams.

As for Yankee bp, I think you can catch some if you go right in on weekends (when the gates open 30 minutes more before the game), though I never get there that early anymore. Any weekend people out there that can weigh in on that?

Interestingly enough, the last time I did see Yankee bp was during the ALCS vs. Seattle (post-9/11).

    YANKEE BASEBALL!!!
