I realize that BOTH sides are completely full of it. Both sides in the labor dispute have some valid points, and both sides totally miss the point (or lie) on others.
Examples of valid points:
Owners: 1 - Some teams are at a disadvantage.
2 - The system forces teams to spend more than a player is truly worth (e.g. arbitration).
Players: 1 - Everyone should be able to earn what the market can bear.
2 - The teams are worth a lot of money, all of them.
Examples of Lies:
Owners: 1 - 25 out of 30 teams are losing money.
2 - The "small markets" cannot compete.
Players: 1 - The players would be "slaves" or "serfs" without the current system. (I really heard this! - n)
2 - - The media is against the players union.
