    NETS to the playoffs!!!!

Congrats to the BEAST OF THE EAST!!! The New Jersey NETS!! As a fan of this team they have accomplished something that is noting short of incredible. They were terrible last season and for many before that. In 1998 they made the playoffs only to loose to the Bulls. That was the last time that they were in and they got swept bad . This time things are different. We ended up with the BEST record in the East. We have played amazing basketball all season long. They play a different brand of basketball, an un-selfish brand. You never know who is going to score. This team doesn't have that one dominant scoreer, because they don't need it.

I love what this team has accomplished this year and it WILL carry them far in the playoffs. They get to squash Reggie(jackass) Miller and the Pacers. Bring em on I say and kick ass NETS!!!

Jim- It is tought to be a Nets fan. We usually have to hide since we stink way to often, but those years are over!!! I was raised a Giants, Nets, and Yankees fan. I am not a fan of Hockey.

J-Kidd is INCREDIBLE!!!! I have been at the CAA and heard the MVP chant so many times and he deserves it. The guy is just incredible. I am of the belief that his leadership on the court account for half the wins on the Nets, not just his assists. He also has a grat supporting cast in Kerry Kittles, Kenyon Martin, Todd McCollough(SP), Richard Jefferson, Jason Collins, Lucius Harris, and sometimes Keith Van Horn. His court vision is amazing!!! I really think that this team can go far in the playoffs. Their one weakness was a half-court game, but that has improved dramatically.

The other grat thing is that Jason Kidd will be staying here for a long time. I believe that he will sign a long term deal to stay here. He said in an article in the NY Times that this was the best team that he has ever played on and has never had so much fun playing basketball.

I agree with that. STARbury was a cancer. He was a very selfish player. He is exciting to watch. He shouldn't be a PG he should be a shooting guard. Jason is an amazing player. I will never watch the NBA again if he doesn't get the MVP. No player has ment more to his team than Kidd. Not Shaq. Not T-Mac. Not Duncan. They are all great players, but nobody has meant more to his team than Kidd. I have is jersey that I wear for all games. Can't with for Saturday at 12:30 on NBC to see them whop Reggie(jackass) Miller!!!!!!!!!

    Nets fan

Jim, I'm one more Nets fan, (hasn't seemed like there are too many of us, lol) and we have surely suffered for years. I have just enjoyed watching them this year, they have at least been fun to watch. Kidd has helped tremendously to create their run-and-gun style of play.
However, I think the NBA west champ will probably win the title; those top clubs seem too strong overall for the east imo.

The Pacers will take them out in the first round. If not, they'll go in the round after. Lack of experience will kill them; they need to take this playoff run and remember it for next year and they'll be a dangerous playoff team in 2003. But in basketball, you don't miss the playoffs for a million seasons in a row then make it one year and find yourself in the finals.

Without a doubt the Champ will come out of the West. I am just giddy over the fact that the team has come so far in such a short time. What ever happen I will be MORE than happy with the season.

Pacers aren't going to win. Are you kidding me. I don't think that they will go to the finals. The winner will come out of the West. I agree that this team will be dangerous in 2003 with the experience that they get in the playoffs. One other thing about the Pacers, they are a very young team also. They don't have alot of playoff experience. Reggie(jackass) Miller is the key to the series. You have to keep him down and keep him contained!!!!!! Do that and the Pacers are toast!! We also have the season series 3-1 over them.

Believe me, I am not kidding you at all...

Nets down 0-1 in the series after a sub-par performance from Reggie Miller.

They played way too tight and scared. Not at all their type of game. I look at the loss as a learning experience. Come Monday it is a new ball game and time to win. I have confidance in this team. The only two Nets that showed up to play were J-Kidd and Kenyon Martin. K-Mart cought fire in the 4th quarter. I think that the first three quarters he was scared of the fouls. Remember the NBA has a new bad boy and his name is Kenyon Martin. He was worried about fouling or even worse Flagriant Fouls. Like I said Monday is a new game. They WILL win!!

Series now tied at 1-1. Nets BLOW OUT the Pacers tonight!!! 79-93. We whoped Indiana tonight and we will win in Indiana. Tonight the Nets played their type of basketball. Plus the fact that they got Indiana into foul trouble helped. Grat game from Kidd, as usuall, and I will complement Keith Van Horn, overrated, he was terrific tonight. Amazing defense from Kenyon Martin. K-mart was dominant tonight!!!

not bad, not bad at all... kidd took it to brooklyn product, tinsley gettin him in foul trouble and they found a way to contain oneal... but i still say the nots will go down in round 1... indiana's front court imho is better than the nots and oneal will get back to noraml, the key is gettin brad miller to produce and keepin tinsley outta foul trouble...

GO anyone but the nots or fakers...

Kidd took Tinsley to school last night!! Big time!! Indiana has had a problem with guys getting into foul trouble. The Nets play GREAT defense. That is the key to the game. IF the Nets play defense like they are capable, than they win the series. I just don't think that Indiana has the talent to bet the Nets.

Thanks, it has been many long tough years of so many problems. There have been so many injuries, it has been tough. I have always been a fan of the team. Being born and raised here in NJ I have to root for this team. I say enjoy this team. Knicks are going to be bad for many years. Too many bad contracts and NO chemestry. Nets have the talent, desire, and play good fundamental basketball. They are a fun team to watch. They play with passion. Kidd is amazing.

I think the Pacers are MORE than happy with a 1-1 split. I still like them to take the series in 5.

Indy will bounce back. The final score was misleading: Indy was not blown out in that game. They gave NJ the lead in that one run at the end of the second. take away that run and the game's a dogfight.

I don't think Jermaine O'Neal and Brad Miller will play as bad in game 3 as they did in game 4. Artest and Tinsley's foul trouble didn't help either. But i think the crowd will be Indy's sixth man on Friday. Remember, last years Sixers were a playoff toughened team and a decent road team, and Indy last year was not as good as Indy this year. i don't think Indy will give up three straight (two IN Indiana) to the unproven Nets like they did to the Sixers last year.

It is a good thing that Jermaine O'Neil ran his mouth so much!! The Nets are a team that isn't great on the road. I still think that we will win it in Indiana. The team really grew up in game 2. This isn't going to a game 5.

It isn't that Miller and O'Neal played bad at all. They just go smothered by Nets defense. Gotta remember that the Nets are a GREAT team defensively. Not good, great. They put lots of pressure on the offense to make those bad shots. They do all the little things to win on a defensive end.

that's true, they didn't play BAD, but they certainly didn't play WELL. we need them to play well (especially Jerm) if we want to win.

It is absolutely amazing, give the Nets defense the credit that they deserve. They have killed Jermaine since the second game. He had 12 points tonight and 12 on Monday. It is all due to the Nets defense!! They are a great defensive team!!!

What an amazing game tonight!!!!!!!!! I can' believe that Kittles put up that 3 pointer at the end. He was HUGE!!!! Best playoff game so far in the playoffs!!!!! They are going to win this puppy in Indiana on Tuesday. So much for their terrible road record. It scared the hell out of me that Reggie had the ball with .08 left in the game. I have seen him hit that shot a million times against the Knicks!!

the Nets deserve a LOT of credit (esp. Scott) for the defensive changes they made since game 1, but at the same time Jerm still isn't hitting the shots he was hitting in game 1. in the past two games brad miller had several of those open jumpers that killed the Nets in game 1 and they aren't going in. but 12 points from our all-star??? we can't win with that production...

Jermaine is a stud. No matte3r what happens, he is a great player. It is just that the Nets defense is really on him. K-Mart is a great defender. He has really turned it up a knotch in the last month. In game 1 of the series the Nets came out scared and not playing like they should and have all season long. They are now playing like a team that is #1 in the East.
