    Jose Cansesco and the Expos

I don't know, but in my eyes, if you can't getting daily playing time on the MONTREAL EXPOS, for christ's sake, do you REALLY belong in baseball any more???

Montreal, no offense, is the biggest joke in MLB, and if Cansesco can't even make THAT team--it's just plain SAD.

Yes, I know there's no DH in the NL--but STILL, we're talking about the Montreal Expos here, folks...

    Your thoughts???

(P.S. Yes, I know I may have misspelled his name...)

I hope he gets picked up by an AL team so he can have a shot at 500 homeruns even if it as a p/t DH or PH.

As much as he has kept up his health regiment program you would think a Team needing a slugger powered homerun hitter would pick him up... anybody but the Montreal Expos!

I enjoyed seeing him play on the Yankees team when they came to Edison field in 2000!

I hope being on the bench doesnt leave him without hope for a better team to play on!

Yankees Are Still the Best in the MLB! Better than ALL the Rest!!!!!

No, no AL for Jose. It is time to hang 'em up. If he gets to 500 home runs, he has to get more serious hall of fame consideration and Jose Canseco is NOT a hall of famer. Jose, call up Ozzie, Jim Leyritz and Jack Armstrong and head back to Newark.

He's still a power threat, and would be good for an American League team.

The only way that a National League team could use his is to pinch hit and be the DH in the very few games that they're in the American League parks during Interleague play.

But in the American League, he can DH and come off the bench. I think that he'll wind up signing with an American League team where he can get his 500th homerun.

Well.... Robinson said, Canceso wouldn't be an everyday player... but I hope he gets a chance w/ another team. Just finish his career in a different way, then being dropped in spring... he needs about 40 homers to the 500.... I'd wish him his 500th, but I really doubt he'll hit it...

I hope he plays for the Somerset Patriots until he gets a call like last year to head back to the majors. I'd love to see him play a few games this year and enjoy that power and personality!

I don't want to make out that the Expos are some great squad, but there are a whole lot of worse teams out there, including two in the AL East: The Orioles and the Rays.
Remember the Expos had Vlad, Vidro and a great young SS named Cabrera. Vasquez is one of the best young righties in the game and Pavano and Tony Armas Jr. are both excellent young pitchers with great upsides. The Expos have the worst fans in the game, not the worst players.

Like too many players there was a time when Jose was sure of his hall of fame induction. Perhaps more importantly he had a spell when he was acting like he thaught that he was imortal. Fast cars (VERY fast in his case) and too much booze. To his credit he grew up and straightened out. He stoped getting picked up for DWIs and apparently cut back on the booze. I stoped reading articles about him wresteling with cops. I have to think that if Jose had employed his current regimen and self discipline in his earlier years he would now be aiming for 600+ HRs instead of 500.

There is no evidence that Montreal would turn out if the '27 Yanks were the home team. It's just a bad baseball town and always has been. The team should be moved to DC now.

your right... it would suck to go to the ballpark everyday and play without a crowd... I don't know how they do it!!!

Montreal may not be the best baseball town, but as Baseball Prospectus has recently observed: the last CBA "killed the Expos," because it: "incentivized payroll slashing and penalized attempts to invest in the product and improve performance. That led directly to four-digit crowds in Montreal."

Jose is obsessed with the 500 number.

He won't stop trying till he gets it.

    He just might.
