I've had worse. A few gambles with Pena and Ishii, but they both could pay off. Enough power, not much speed, and some good average. Not much patience, though. Mixed bag.
Be seeing you,
Saxmania
Ugh...Could be worse. Could be a lot better. I took a lot of gambles.
Considering I didn't get there 'til the 15th round, I'd say I'm pretty happy. Needless to say before the season starts, some of these players are gonna get dumped like yesterday's trash!
(Yes Omar, that means you)

We're Playaz. We're 9. We're Angry.
Base: a certain kind of ball.
Repair these losses...and be a blessing to us.
I've had better rosters, but I'm happy enough with it. (No, leave me alone Sascha...I don't wanna trade Pujols...)

I really liked my draft. I have a good mix of everything and strong SP. The Balloon Knots will reign supreme!!!
once I learned to pick twice in a row, it got a little easier. The first time I missed and the computer selected Chipper Jones. Not one of my favs, but he does put up numbers![]()
As long as i got a few Yankees I was happy.
That whole process burned me out. Tooo much pressure. But it was fun.
That don't make me no nevermind.
I have about five Yankees, which is good. Yet, the bad thing is that I had four mets/bosox players. Thats basically the only flaw.

said it before, say it again.. AVG don't matter, just Total Bases, RBIs, Runs, and SBs
I'm pretty friggin happy, especially with my OF!
I think I'll do better than last year (24th of 25).
I like my pitching staff (balanced rotation and 2 good closers), and I think I'll steal a lot of bases. And I should have enough power to stay up there in the rankings.
Imperium Referiat!
When I walked in through the door/ Thought it was me I was looking for/ She was the first song I ever sang/ But it stopped as soon as it began...
i have a decent roster....not the best i have ever had.....but pretty good![]()
Got just about every hitter I wanted, but not one of my top-tier pitchers. Lots of sleepers though - guys who could come up big.
I like the format w/ 15 teams less talent meant it was more important to secure balanced production from each slot rather than just focusing on studs… everyone seems to have acquired at leats a few studs, and a lot depends on how the second tier players perform…
i like my team, very good offense and pitching balance, no major superstars on o, but guys that can hack w/ the best of em and IF NOMAH, UGHstays injury free, he could be that missing superstar... my lineup still pails in comparison to many others, so i'll have to rely on my pitching, of which, i gotta lot
the only effed up thing is i got urbina ugueth, so my fate is kinda tied to da sox'... CURSES SUCK!!!! grade b+
other teams i like are sanfran's babe's piano players... yo sanfran seems like you draft better when you're not there since you didn't show up till the 15th round and managed to snag, 4 premium sluggers in delgado, bonds, berkman, walker and 5 tool phenom ichiro, (not to be confused w/ mr suzuki).. lemme know if we can work a deal of yer sluggin fer pitchin
grade b
the saxman seems to have almost as much firepower as sanfran, in arod, manny, edmonds, hidalgo and solid guys like nevin and clark and also boasts a better rotation w/ zito, wood reed and percival in the pen... grade b+
german goldgloves has pretty good balance w/ superstuds, piazza, alomar griffey complemetned by emerging stars beltran, floyd, young and burroughs (did ya homework) and a solid rotation led by aces pedro, and cc sabathia... i could still recall the days when piazza, alomar griff and pedro wouldda all been #1's grade a
yanksrule2002 is another balanced team led by four studs on offense in giambi, green, boone and shef, and on the rotation buerhle, penny radke, and Burkett w/ nen in relief grade b+
and finally sir boz, did an excellent job mixing studs w/ emerging talent and serviceable vets… led by studs, lugo, and sosa, and potential superstud thomas, complemented by Guzman, biggio, klesko, balanced by a rotation that boasts aces Garcia and colon and emerging stars sheets and pinero… grade b+
these are my favs but really there are no devil rays or pirates in this league a testament to the level of baseball expertise on this site… should be a good seas, let the trading frenzy commence…
good luck all…

Thomas was like a 9th round pick, what round was Mr.ShoulderSurgery Martinez?
![]()
Enrique reaches on an infield single to leadoff the 5th inning.

He was my second round pick, not to mention Piazza as #1, but I don't regret picking both so early.... 30, 33, 31, 33, 29, 29 starts in the seasons before that lousy 2001.. if he's healthy for say 30 games, he'll kick some assesOriginally posted by Bozidar

Ansky...give me some insight on my team. I am YRMbombers2002. Thanks!!
I'd like some, too: FP Balloon Knots..
I believe the draft was decent, definitely alot of participation. But I am quite disappointed that Ansky did not grade me>>>>>>>>and everybody else, Let's Go grade everybody,,
Brian, West Haven Yankees, quite well rounded I might add++
I have the fastest team out there, Cedeno, Soriano, Furcal, Guerreo!!
ok here goes...Originally posted by YanksRockMan
Ansky...give me some insight on my team. I am YRMbombers2002. Thanks!!
these are just my personal takes not gospel, so I hope no one gets offended, (cause personally I think all your teams suck and I will rule anyways…) but here is the rest of the league imho…
Bad news bears nice line up led by studs, bagwell, glaus and giles complemented by emerging stud dunn and solid players in burell and vidro but pitching in dire shape led by Milton and appier… marquis may be pleasant urprise… grade b-
YRMBombers 2002 boasts a stable lineup led by studs abreu and juan gone, potential stud alfonzo complemented by quality bats in mcelmore, mientkewitzc, burnitz, higginson, and rollins… the rotation needs help w/ a huge drop in talent after super studs rivera and vazquez… grade c+
Westhaven Yankees is clearly the fastest club in the league led by throrobreds, soriano cedeno and furcal anchored by super duper stud guerero and complemented by reliable vets like tino mcgriff and the solidly productive yet unspectacular mike Lowell the lineup is good… the rotation boasts three aging aces in rocket glavine and leiter and backed up by isringhausen out the pen.. a lot wil depend on the health of this bunch, but if they stay in there, they could lead westhaven into the post… grade b
Italian ice is led by studs chipper and jete, potential return stud mo Vaughn, mr potential himself javy lopez, (maybe this year he’ll actually live up to his billing) and complemented by premium slugger garret Anderson, blue chip Vernon wells and reliable vets in lofton and Jordan… the pitching staff is led by ace of aces k brown complemented by pettitte followed by closers smoltz and hoffman… but this team also starts lilly and hitchcock both of whom will lilely start the seas out of the pen… combined w/ brown returning from injury this rotation is tenuous at best… grade c+
FP balloon Knots lineup boasts super studs helton and magglio ordonez complemented by premium slugger edgar martinez potential studs in erstadt ward and drew w/ question mark at short in cabrera (bulging disk).. rotation is led by ace maddux and stud oswalt, and bentiez anchoring the pen but pretty thin after that… grade b-
Michigan wolverines lineup is led by studs lo duca, pujols, kent, and jones complented by premium slugger sexson and blue chip cruz… their rotation is strong led by super duper duper ace big unit and ace morris complemented by up and comers lidle and burnett w/a quartet of quality arms in the pen in f rod, dotel, fassero and prokepec… grade b
Buckeye bombers line up is led by irod thome tejada and question marks Cameron and dye in the of… their rotation boasts aces Hudson, kile, sele, closer wagner and setup man Stanton for a pretty balanced attack… grade b-
Bambino’s ghost lineup stars quality at bats at almost every position in kendall, casey, Durham, aurila, complemented by a speedy of in Wilson, stewart, damon, mondesi and sleeper slugger Jenkins on the bench… their rotation on the otherhand is pretty thin w/ only leiber and perhaps reliever foulke as the only noteworthy arms… grade c+
Cunning linguists lineup boasts palmeiro, rolen Bernie, and alou w/ the injury risk yet potential slugger charles Johnson at catcher, a decent bench and question marks at second and short… their rotation is pretty strong led by ace moose, followed by mulder, smith and moyer, carpenter and johnson, complemented by koch and rocker in the pen… grade b-
Ditto my brother, and here's yours:Originally posted by Ansky39
these are just my personal takes not gospel, so I hope no one gets offended, (cause personally I think all your teams suck and I will rule anyways…)
Lords of Flatbush has a lineup anchored by No-mah and Posada, and includes dependable fantasy producers Konerko and Sweeney. An aging outfield is nonetheless consistent and the players hit in strong lineups. Flatbush is loaded at 3B with Aramis and superprospect Hank Blalock. Pitching staff is superdeep in starters but has only one closer and one setup guy... grade b
A rumored deal involving Curt Schilling going to the Babe's Piano Playaz could not be confirmed at the time of this writing.![]()
funny i heard the same rumor.. something about schilling for bonds and ichiro... go figure...Originally posted by SanFrANSKY

In case anyone cares, I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to program a custom league into High Heat 2002. The results were rather vague, and of course it has no possible bearing on the actual league, but I thought you might like to know that in the World Series, the German Gold Gloves beat the Buckeye Bombers in 5 games. I had to guesstimate the rookies' ratings and adapt some Japanese imports, plus player ratings were a little old, so please don't consider this anything more than a random stab. Which is great, considering how long it took me to set up.
Be seeing you,
