    Hi everyone!

I just became a member today after reading that heart grenching letter that some posted "little Rudy". I don't think the city would be foolish enough to tear down Yankee Stadium and put a plaque on the floor to commerate the legends of the past. If that is what they intend to do, I think everyone needs to stand up for our beloved stadium, open our windows and yell out to the mayor of New York "That's it, I won't stand for it anymore".

Yankees Stadium should be converted into a Baseball Museum. The stadium has too much history in it to just tear it down to make way for some expensive coop apartment complex or whatever they want to build in its place. If your like every New Yorker, there's is no more a fabulous sight than seeing Yankees Stadium as you take the #4 train out of Manhattan. If the city feels that it is time to build a new stadium, they should do so. But don't tear down a major peice of baseball history. This is no Seattle stadium, This is no Detroit Stadium, this is no San Francisco Stadium. They had to rebuild to attract fans to a more astonishing stadium to attract fans. The Yankees don't need that! Yankees Stadium alone attracts fans, the Players make it more interesting.

Let's keep the House the Babe Built alive!

Because If they tear down our house I am going to be extrememly pissed!

Dude, not to make an enemy, but figure...

The Memories are in your HEAD not in that hunk of concrete and metal. They will always be in your HEAD. While I would like to see it preserved, there's no way it'll happen in this economy.

Otherwise, welcome aboard, and don't be worried, most of us don't bite...

    Welcome Mav 316!

I, to an extent, share your sentiments on the stadium. What I believe they are talking about doing is keeping monument park "as is", and charging some sort of admission to it so the city can recoup some money that way. This way monument park could be a baseball museum of sorts. This would be all part of a compromise.

The second part that I believe is being talked about, is making the inside of the new stadium resemble the old stadium, to the extent that it is architecturally possible to do so. If these things were done, I would welcome a new stadium.

I know there are people who disapprove of a dome, and you know what, in the middle of July when it is perfect weather at the stadium, I agree with them. However, I went to a game last year at the end of September, and I have had the opportunity to go to several playoff games in recent years. Even though I enjoyed these experiences (yes the Yankees won all of them), I still remember freezing my kiester off at all of those games.

I know I would have enjoyed the games more if I was inside a warm dome with perfect weather.

Baseball is an outside game. If ya can't cope with the elements, then stay at home inside and watch. I went to Opening Day 2001 and that is definitely one of the coldest days in the beginning of April, but I hada fine time. Dome = Star Wars Stadium...
