Harry the K's Legends: 2009 Champs, and possibly the most dominant team in the history of the league!!!
R.I.P Harry Kalas...Say hi to whitey for me
I might've posted this awhile ago (probably in the regular "Yankee" section) but figured it was worthy of a mention. Anywho, if someone doesn't choose to look here to find out the goodies on the Yanker history, they probably didn't feel like seeing the whole forum anyway!!!![]()

Very Good !----Lots of great facts and interesting info----Thanxs.---I'm still in recovery mode and haven't had a chance to read much of anything lately----as a matter of fact-today I finally extracted my WS tape in my vcr-that last game--I was going to tape over it-but then I remembered it was Paulie's last game.---Oh well-I'll watch up until Soriano's homer!---Some day....not now-too soon-I'm still in mourning.
Take a number. I didn't even get a chance to officially change your screen name. Ugh!!!
I'm still in mourning, still feeling very bare out there when wearing my Yankee cap and jersey. I haven't gotten any weird stares for wearing this, but didn't quite expect to have to cash in on the "lose" portion of "faithful, whether we win or lose".
In 1960, the tide didn't quite go our way yet we still won in 1961. In 1997, we lost again not even making it to the WS, yet we beat the same Tribe team in the '98 ALCS. We'll be back there and I think that George will do his very best to get us some fresh young faces who like to play and like to win. I'm hoping they don't come with the ego problem I've heard of that star athletes have these days.

Yes----you are too much though---you have to crack people up!!!-----Yes I cut out that in 1960 we lost a heartbreaker, and came back to win a magical season-etc. and shoved it in my Met friend(?) at work's face because he harrassed me for a bit.---Well---for some reason---you just know between Cashman and Torre,we if at all possible will pick those few choice people who will be just the perfect fit for our new and improved 2002 New York Yankees---and as far as cocky or egos----I doubt that,as long as Joe's managing----he doesn't tolerate cocky but I think a healthy ego is what our past few years of this team was and yes made it so successful.---When you hear players ecstatic to become a Yankee-that's the right idea.Oh I can't wait to see who they get!
Even opposing players who've spent 10-15 yrs in the big leagues are happy to play in historic Yankee Stadium, since they've never been there before. It seems strange considering I've heard this also from Seattle players but it happens.
Muts "fans" seem much more interested in the Yankees losing the WS than their team ever going anywhere. That's 2 whole WS wins for them in 40 years, the last of which was won by a fielding error caused by The Babe. The minute they can talk about their own team, rather than how the Yankee season went down in one miserable moment, let me know. All I know is that the Yankees aren't owned by the Braves, who are owned by both the Yankees and the Diamondbacks. This puts the Yankees as #2 this year but the Muts are still #3 just in the NL Least.
That being said, I'm hoping that Joe and Cashman put together a great team of young stars and can get around their "me, me, me" monstrous egos. If everyone's so full of themselves, who's even going to want to play the game?
Whoever plays 1B here next year I'm hoping is at least happy, Vlad can be in RF, Shane can still be in LF (I hate trading away fine players we've plucked from the farm) and a few more pitchers can be had. I'd love some great players, but just not too many overpriced ones. Vlad makes $6M to Juan Gone's $10M and Vlad's still younger, so I'm hoping we go in that direction. We still need 2-3 more lumber guys on our team, so let's hope we go in that direction.
