    Mariners Still Rule

I'm a Mariner fan. I gotta say that. I'm a Yankee fan too. I would have wrote sooner but I was in Virginia. Who do I root for? Well... being from Seattle area, I actually root for game 7. The game winner takes all.

I think the Mariners played a very good season this year. 116 games won in a season? Amazing Mariners. How about Ichiro? Damn.. that guy is amazing! Pitching was amazing. We should have got it. I was torn appart from my teams to tell you the truth. Some days I wanted the Mariners to win but other days I wanted the Yankees to win.

My father told me that Jeter said "If you don't get a ring it doesn't mean anything." That quote put me in prospective. The Mariners shouldn't have gotten it. The best team won, and that was simply the Yankees. All these years its been the Yankees. They are simply number one. I'm just writing to tell you the Mariners do rule still.

All these series was amazing. The Yankees and Oakland. Amazing Yankees. Mariners and Indians.. I really thought the Mariners wouldn't come back from that far behind. I knew the Yankees would though. I believed in my teams, the fans did too. That's why they came back and won.

Next year, I hope it goes down to game 7. Like I said I hope winner will take all.

    Sincerely,
    jg2

I hate Ichiro. I could go on and on about Ichiro. Everyone praises him likes he's some kind of God. Everyone is goo goo gaa gaa over him. Its like they want him. He's a good balllayer, but way too overated. 230 some hits, 190 singles. How come he has all that speed but can't get more doubles and triples? A lot of those singles probably were infield hits, and the only reason he beat them out is cuz he leaves the box before the ball crosses the plate. He plays a good right field, but they make it appear he makes a great throw every game, which he doesn't. http://forums.bronx-bombers.com/show...=Ichiros+stats. Thats a forum a while back about Ichiro and his stats. The people bring up some good topics.

People have had better seasons that Ichiro, and I hate it how everyone thinks no one else has. Good but wayyyyyyyy to overrated.

Im not a big ichiro fan at all, but i gotta give that guy his props, the most impressive thing is that he hit like 470 all year with risp. His speed causes absolute hell. Id take him on the yankees in a heartbeat as a leadoff guy. Im telling you, once this guy learns to take a few more walks, there's no telling how good he'll be.

Suzuki is pretty much a very fast baserunner with so-so power. He's not quite the best slugger around, but he does get on base. Like in basketball where you need a good rebounder to score, you also need someone on base to get that multi-run HR. He does this well.

The rest of his team will need to catch up, since he was the only one batting >.300, whereas about 4 Yanks batted over .300 in ALCS. He may also try for more power, since 18 HRs isn't all that impressive.

Would I take him wearing pinstripes in RF and leadoff hitter? Sure thing. If that position calls for a clutch hitter, great OBP and stealing bases, he surely would fill that better than anyone else I can think of, though he needs much more MLB experience.

M's Fan and a Yankee Fan. That is everything that is wrong with baseball. Get some damn loyalty. Where will this guy be when the Mariners are 62-100? He'll be a "life-long Yankee fan".

Now that the Yankees exposed his holes as they did with Timo Perez last year, he will go the same way as Timo. Sayonara.

By being a Mariner fan the possibility of his being a Yankee fan is completely canceled out. In my universe this is exactly the same as being both a Yankee fan and Red Sox fan.

And where the hell are masonf and Mariners2001?! I still haven't heard from them and I'm gettin' real anxious to update my signature. I don't like irreversible disappearing acts and they're runnin' outta time!

When I'll now admit I honest wasn't sure that the Yankees had any chance at all against Seattle, I told one of those idiots (M2001 I think) that he'd better have some exit plan and a good hiding spot. As it turns out, they've used this wisely and are now in hiding, probably for good. Anyone that bad doesn't need to be waited on any further, since they're not good enough to own up to their mistakes. Consider this a compliment.

You must be joking. Rule what? When you're on top, you rule. Other than the being the best sports team in Seattle to go bust in the post season, the Mariners rule nothing.

The Mariners rule sitting on the couch eating cheetos and watching the World Series.

Incidentally, I once met someone who was both a Red Sox fan and a Mets fan.

The Mariners had a fantastic year but, unfortunately for them, it doesn't mean a whole lot since they didn't get into the series! Kudos to the M's season, however! Now let's get on with it and watch The Yankees win # 27 !

Damn... can anyone point me to articles detailing the M's choke in the ALCS? I need to update my signature with some nice juicy quotes. Unfortunately, I didn't really see much after the series ended. Which is nice... 1000 articles written during the year about how "great" they were... nothing written after it all crumbled.

b5, you're probably out of luck, since most newsdailies only have "last 6 or 7 days'" worth of articles available for free. After this, perhaps a small fee like $2.00/article. If you need articles, ESPN.com may have something if you look hard enough.

You mean to tell me someone was actually a bigger a-hole that masonf and Mariners2001? Someone must've invented an "a'hole to the nth power" since that's where those two have reached. Anything beyond this is above my level of comprehension, if you don't mind.

DBacks01 was not even a D'Backs fan. He was a BlowSux fan pretending to give a damn about the D'Backs so he could rub the WS loss in our faces. At least mason and M2001 were actually *M's fans* who gloated all over their team then disappeared when they lost it all.

At this time of year, all the Yankee victims became D-Backs "fans". From Muts, Sux, Braves, all of them. And who did they say the bandwagoners were?

I suppose they're going to be accusing *US* of also being fans of the Ravens, Lakers and the Avs too, huh?
