    Ruth & Gehrig records

This is a question I don't know the answer to, but have tride to find out. I know both Ruth and Gehrig held a lot of records that since have been broken, but I wonder how many records Ruth and Gehrig held at the time they retired? I think Ruth still holds a record for some pitching feat in the WS.

I thought Ford broke that in 1961.

I found this at the Babe Ruth site. I don't think WS record has been broken.

Babe Ruth holds the record for the longest complete game victory in World Series history. In 1916, as a member of the Boston Red Sox, Ruth went 14 innings to defeat the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Yep. Ford broke Ruth's World Series scoreless innings streak with 33 2/3 innings. Ruth had thrown 29 2/3 innings.

Here's a WS record that Ruth holds,

He's the only player to end a WS by being thrown out trying to steal a base.
