    It'll look better this way:
    Stats:

IP H ERA S ER HR BB HB WP BK
    51 26 1.24 27 16 2 17 0 5 0

That's also .843 WHIP. Not bad.

Think of him as trade bait. I always love seeing prospects do well for that reason.. cuz they get us veterans in return!

    don't let stats fool you

    1. He's currently on the dl.
    2. He's 30 years od.
    3. He's a retread. He is new to organization this season.
    4. Look at Almanzar's minor league stats in AAA. Has Piazza's shot come down yet?

Don't worry about another closer for a few yrs! The only thing Pachedo is going to close for the yanks is the mens room door!

It might make you shudder, but what about Brandon Knight? I'm serious. He performed terribly as a relief pitcher here, but he throws hard and strikes out tons of guys. Considering all the young pitchers we have who are ahead of Knight in terms of major-league outlook (Graman and Claussen are great prospects, Randy Flores is having a great year, Keisler has a foot in the door and Lilly's already here), he could be most effective throwing his heart out for an inning rather than pacing himself over a start. Look what it did for Mariano Rivera.

Elfdood,I have been thinking the same thing. Knight could be an outstanding reliever.Kay reported he is throwing 96 mph.

I thought our main closer prospect was that kid that could reach 100 mph, I forgot his name but he had just started a couple of weeks ago due to immigration issues. Whats the latest with him?

Reynoso? Isn't that who you're talking about? Edison Reynoso, the guy from the Dominican Republic? Or am I really murdering his name?

Wierd...he's supposedly on the Gators (AA Norwich), but he's listed as an inactive pitcher. Wonder what happened...

He's pitched 18 innnings for the Navigators and has a 3.91 ERA with 17 K's and 5 walks. This is out of 5 appearances and 3 starts.
