Rookie Pitching Sensation

I don't know how many Yankee fans follow the farm teams but I am one who checks the games and stats out everyday. In my finding the Yankees have two pitching prospects at Norwich that has been lights out in the last month. They are Brandon Claussen and Alex Graman. Both are lefthanders and Claussen is 21 years old and Graman is 23. Claussen as a 2.16 ERA and is 7-2. Graman started slow but has come on recently and he has 3.76 ERA and 10-9 record. I am not ditching Keisler and Lilly but neither of those two had stats like Claussen. I know its only Double A baseball but if either of them can develop into another Pettitte we could only be so lucky.

Man, where do the Yanks get all these lefties? Pettite, Lilly, Keisler, and now these two? Claussen and Graman? That's awesome.

I'm sorry to say that they won't all pitch for the yanks in the Majors.. but it's nice to see we've got good prospects to deal in the minors.

whats not awsome is lilly and keisler, lets hope the other 2 lefties we have in the minors turn out to be like mulder and zito.

Sounds like this plethora of Lefties means Keisler or Lilly is a goner in a trade... GOOD.

Bowden reportedly demanded both Clausen and Gramen in exchange for Dmitri Young. Young sure could have helped in LF or even at 3rd base during Scott's absence. But in this case the stats and the potential of these guys tells you why the Yanks demurred.

The Yanks don't need mediocre lefties. They need a top lefty pitcher like Andy (or Mulder or Zito or Schoenweiss or Sabathia or Milton -- there are others, but I don't see it in Lilly or Keisler).

Claussen and Graman have long been highly thought of as the Yankees' best pitching prospects. Keisler and Lilly were just further ahead of them, but Alex Graman supposedly has the best stuff of all the pitchers in the minors.

I don't look to see the Yanks trading these two. Supposedly Newman is real big on Claussen and Graman is almost untouchable. They want to see how these kids do in the higher levels before even thinking of giving away so much young talent. Good for then.

On a side note, who else thinks that the Yanks need to get some good RIGHTY pitchers in the minors? They seem to be a dying breed in our farm system!
