    All-Time Hate Team

    I think Slip asked for this - - -

Who's your All-Time "Hate" Team - meaning the team of all-time Yankee opponents that you hate, as a Yankee fan. What's yours? Below is mine, just thinking quickly. Remember - these are just personal choices.

    1B - Will Clark
    2B - Davey Lopes (WS)
    SS - Rey Ordonez (Inter-League)
    3B- Boggs
LF - Devon White (I'm sticking him here)
    CF - Griffey Jr.
    RF- Kirk Gibson
    SP - Pedro
    RP - Beneitz

Actually, I suggested an All-Time rival team for various key days. Such as, the best opponents the Yankees faced in the AL in 1961.

But this is interesting. Who did I hate the most. Besides Gary Carter and the 1986 Mets?

Fisk, of course. Bill Lee. Brett. Bob Welch (Reggie in '78). Pete Rose without a doubt in 1976. Most of the Reds, and Joe Morgan.

Others, no doubt. I'll give it some thought. . .

"We understand that John Henry must be embarrassed, frustrated and disappointed by his failure in this transaction. Unlike the Yankees, he chose not to go the extra distance for his fans in Boston. It is understandable, but wrong that he would try to deflect the accountability for his mistakes on to others and to a system for which he voted in favor. It is time to get on with life and forget the sour grapes."

Mike Caldwell (Brewers) comes to mind. As I recall, he liked to plunk Reggie and started a couple of memorable fights. Reggie usually just homered off him after a plunking.
