That's right...I keep forgetting he had all of 50 or so ABs with the Yanks before he got shipped out to San Diego for the Japanese Nolan Ryan.

But he plays Gold Glove defense! He can't be a total bust!

    How about Russ Davis?

In that case, let's include "the Japanese Nolan Ryan" to the list... Hideki Irabu wasn't much better....

How about Danny Rios? (First pitch of his career a grand slam to Mo Vaughn! Didn't get much better from there...)
Ben Ford? (So good we had to get him twice!)
    Jake Westbrook?
Domingo Jean? (Supposed to come up around 1993ish, was there for a cup of coffee and is STILL toiling around in AAA!)

I have a Russ Davis/Brien Taylor baseball card. Wonder how much it's worth?!

Dave Eiland? Larry Milbourne? Was Bobby Meacham bad enough to count?

BTW, Celerino Sanchez is now warming the bench on the Yankee Immortals Team:
    Bats: Right Throws: Right
    Height: 5' 11"
    Weight: 160 lbs.
    Born: Feb 3, 1944 in --, Mexico
    Died: May 1, 1992 in --, Mexico

Ah, a meeting of generations. Another fellow mentioned in this thread, Russ Davis, played third in the first game I ever went to. But I think I'm too happy about getting Tino (etc) for Davis (etc) to consider him a bust. And Westbrook has pitched well for Cleveland this year (bombed in his last four outings, though) and seems to have a good career ahead of him.

How about Ryan Bradley? He had terrific minor league stats, had real control problems in a short stint in the majors, and he hasn't been the same pitcher since. He's spent most of this season struggling along in Norwich.

Mason gets a bye - - he had our only HR in the 1976 WS. That's good for something.

Milbourne had a good post-season too once - if I remember right?

I once did an interview with Mike Marshall - he said Larry was a tough out for him.

Anyone who was a fan back in the early 70's knows while he played "Stalk" could pick 'em. Just couldn't stay healthy. He helped in '72 keep the Yanks in a pennant race. Prospects------Charle Spikes, Bill Burbach, and the immortal Steve Whitaker.

P - Brien Taylor, Al Pulido, Clay Parker
"We understand that John Henry must be embarrassed, frustrated and disappointed by his failure in this transaction. Unlike the Yankees, he chose not to go the extra distance for his fans in Boston. It is understandable, but wrong that he would try to deflect the accountability for his mistakes on to others and to a system for which he voted in favor. It is time to get on with life and forget the sour grapes."

Berra came up with the Pirates first. How about Wade Taylor, Jeff Johnson, and Clay Parker. Though he wasn't a homegrown prospect, the name Cecilo Guante will always haunt me. I will never forgive him for blowing those games in Detroit.

And another one of the immortals,

    Ross Moschitto.....

As well as this candidate for Monument Park,

    Tony Solaita....

And how can we forget that ace of the Yankee pitching staff -- of course, I'm talking about

    Dooley Womack........
