    Weight-Loss Club, Fall 2010

Okay Tub-O-Lards, you have until the end of Monday to eat what you want, then for those who want to get the flab off it's time to get serious. Post your time and weight goals here and we'll talk about the best ways to get there. I'm looking at about 15 pounds between now and the end of January. Same old routine, more exercise and calorie-counting, 4 small meals plus dinner so I'm not hungry all the time.
    Let the kids play.

    Re: Weight-Loss Club, Fall 2010

Happy to say I've kept it off since last year, only adding muscle. I declare myself the winner of last year's thread. But I'm gonna enjoy myself this weekend. I've been in a pattern since August of being strict all week to get back down to the weight I was before the weekend, then spiking up the ol' water weight over the course of a day or 2, and repeat...but I love to talk nutrition and exercise, so I'll be happy to contribute. Good luck, but do a shot for me today!

I've lost 9KG (17.5 lbs) this summer, all because of exams and fasting. Most of it, unfortunately, is muscle, so I'm setting myself a target of gain 5KGs of muscle by December and get my self back to 175lbs, then work my back to 190 by Spring (I was 182lbs before my exams)

I need to find my scale. Thing 1 has it somewhere in her room, buried under all of her crap.

I'm afeared that it's going to tell me something really bad when I get on it, but I always start my goal 10 pounds at a time.

I'd like to lose 10 pounds for starters. Not sure of the time I want it to be accomplished in.

I lost about 10 pounds in 3 months for my wedding, mostly by eating less, walking more, and stressing way too much. Now I'm just looking to cut another 10-15 pounds in the long term.

nice to see you posting Bub!

I have gained a ton of weight in the last 10 months - I've gone up and down 3 sizes in the last year and a half! some of it was some medical issues and the meds but now I'm fine and ready to get down a bit...especially since it's been affecting my back and I'm not getting any younger.

I started eating really healthy last week and got sick - I think my body likes me eating bad foods and soda but I know that's not really true. My first goal is to lose 15lbs by the time I go to the UK at the end of October.

    Re: Weight-Loss Club, Fall 2010

I'm scared to get on a scale, but I want to get back in my size 5's, so I'm in. I know what I have to do - cut out processed carbs, cut down on even good carbs (three meals of whole-grain whatever is two too many), and move my lazy arse a bit. I always say I have no time, but if my sister can get up at 5:30 to walk every day (and I actually think she's smaller than me for the first time since she got pregnant with Casey 23 years ago), I can do so too.

Getting married in 2 weeks, so the weight loss already happened. The key will be keeping it off after i am slightly less motivated.

Since moving to Singapore, I've gained about 8 pounds.. I'm at 181.5 right now. Not hitting the gym with the same intensity since I'm a) married now b) don't have the instructors in the gym to box with and do plyometrics with. Add that together w/ the fact that I don't eat as well and everything is served w/ noodles and rice and I'm fighting an uphill battle. Got to figure out a plan.

I seriously need to put a stop to my gaining. I'd like to lose 40 by Jan 1st but I lose very slow so I think 30 is more realistic and would give me a nice head start into next year. If I spent as much time doing it as I actually did worrying about it I'd be thin by now.

Wedding last night.....super-elite reception at a place only this relative could afford.....we ate non-stop from 7 to 11, some of the finest food ever assembled. Cookout today...getting the 12PM picked corn at 12:30 and that should be great.

But, it's all over tomorrow morning.

    I'm in.

I'm down about 65 pounds since January, and about 105 pounds since 2005. I'm 6'6 and currently sitting between 220 and 223, but would ideally like to get to about 210-212. I've been pretty aggressive in my weight loss to date this year, so I'm not going to push these last 10lbs too much...slow and steady will get the job done in my book.

I'd like to lose about 30 lbs by the end of the year. I did pretty good during the summer, then got hurt a few times, and jsut straight up stopped and ate like a pig/ I gotta get back on the wagon now, and lose these lbs for good.

OK, here we go. I tried the interactive scale this morning but before it could give me a reading it was yelling at me "GET OFF, GET OFF!!!" I'm guessing about 188, so I have 14 pounds to remove by 1/24.

The 6-meal plan works for me. Meal 1 is in the books - cup of coffee with sugar-free creamer and 2 fig bars - 150 calories. My usual fig bars will eventually have to be replaced with the Fig Newton whole wheat (yuck) fig bars so I get some early dietary fiber.

Yeah, but my college playing weight was 165 and I have a relatively thin frame, so 188 is very uncomfortable. I feel so much better, both physically and mentally in the low 170s that's it's worth all the trouble to get back to it. I also have my parents to live up to, and they were doing the Jitterbug 2 nights ago at a wedding reception at the ages of 89 and 85. The pressure is incredible.

I'll do my normal weigh-in tomorrow to determine my starting point. I did an "unofficial" one this morning, and came in at 220. (Wednesday is my normal weigh-in day)

Still to bok bok to get on the scale. But, I brought a Lean Cuisine for lunch, and for breakfast I had a yogurt. Someone brought in pie, but I haven't touched it.

I've found you can eat pie without touching it. Just inhale like an aardvark.

Salad (lettuce with some carrots added on, 1000 island dressing), an orange and an apple for lunch.

I wish the cafe near me had diet sprite. Their only caffine free choices are either cola (which i'm avoiding) or the full calorie choices. I had a root beer for the lose.

Will find out Thursday how much i've lost since before the hospital. Sadly, at my weight it's difficult to find a scale that works for me.

I always had trouble finding a scale that didn't say, "accurate up to 300 lbs.!" Bastards.
