    Dibble..even dumber than we thought.

    He really is a dolt:

In the wake of controversial comments Rob Dibble made about Stephen Strasburg, the Nationals announced today Dibble will no longer broadcast their games. The separation will be permanent, and the Nationals -- not MASN -- made the decision. The Nationals offered no further comment on the matter.

Re: Dibble..even dumber than we thought.

    From Neyer:

This was after Dibble made some on-air comments that a fair number of distaff baseball fans -- and some non-distaff fans, too -- found at least moderately offensive.

This is merely rank speculation, but I'm guessing that Dibble was put on double-secret probation after the earlier transgression. All he had to do was keep his nose clean for a few more months, and he'd have been solid for 2011. Keep it clean for a few more years, and he might have enjoyed a career like Hawk Harrelson has enjoyed with the White Sox.
the earlier transgression he is referring to was about women at a Nats game he was broadcasting:

“Those ladies right behind there, they haven’t stopped talking the whole game,” Rob Dibble said in the sixth inning of Wednesday night’s Nats broadcast. “They have some conversation going on. Right here,” he said, circling the offenders. “There must be a sale tomorrow going on here or something….Their husbands are going man, don’t bring your wife next time.”
“All right Bob, now they’re back there, they’re eating ice cream and talking at the same time,” Dibble noted in the top of the eighth.

“I just got an e-mail that said there’s a lot of women who come to the games — while their husbands are the ones at home — because they love this game,” Carpenter noted, briefly touching base with the 21st century. “Tread carefully, Mr. Dibble.”

“My wife loves to come to the game, but they’re right there, still talking,” Dibble countered.
I'm pissed at the comments but he's so dumb I can't put too much energy behind it...

Whats wrong with talking during a game? Isn't that what they paid to do?

That OCD chick is kind of funny:

This is not a post about why former baseball players who have little to no acumen immediately get high profile positions doing color commentary and analysis for teams or networks (yes, I’m looking at you and your frosted tips Kevin Millar).

this was Dibble's apology for the sexist comments:

Anyone remember what he said about Ichiro in pre-season 2001, basically saying he wasn't going to hit for shee-at in the MLB, and if he managed to hit .300, Dibble would run through Times Square naked.

Dibble sucked as an announcer. He made Morgan sound like he knows what he's doing.

Word. And double co-sign for the homer remark, though Hawk Harrelson and the Tampa Bay broadcasters (Ken Kennedy and Co.) are terrible too.

White Sox radio announcers are awful, as well.

He could have had a great call for that, one which would have been remember for a long time to come. Instead he came up with "Alexeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! YES!" Dolt.

Oh yeah - he talked about that last year. It was one of his finer moments.

Sometimes, Dibble can be pretty funny, but overall, he's gotten worse. I think the Nats hired him because of his "colorful" personality, but got more than they bargained for. BTW - in that famous clip which features Lou Piniella having to be pulled off of one of his players in the clubhouse when he managed in Cincinnati - Dibble is the guy.
September 28, 2008 - the day the HOF got a wake-up Moose call.

^ This. Good riddance. Or as Nelson Muntz would say, "Ha - ha".

Did Dibble talk about Strasburg's injury on the baseball broadcast or was it on his XM radio talk show?
