Any idea who's pitching for Trenton in games 3 and 4? I had heard Warren would go game 3 but obviously that's not going to happen. I can't go to tonight's game but if they play tomorrow I would love to see Manny or Brackman pitch.

Banuelos is pitching game 3, I know that. I'm not sure about game 4, but yeah my guess is Brackman if they need it.Originally Posted by nhyankeefan

Anyone with an Insider sub care to report on what, if anything, KLaw had to say about Warren's outing last night?

He spoke glowingly of the Yankees other solid minor league arm that threw last night.
He really loved the fastball. Had him at similar velocities reported elsewhere, and really glowed about the command. Noticed that Warren was using the fastball as his out-pitch. Didn't have anything good to say about the offspeed stuff, no change up and fringy slider.

Very cool, thanks man.Originally Posted by Iknowcool

second guy got an infield single manny got a glove on the ball but if he had let it go the 2B would of probably made the play for an out. He went to steal and was caught stealing(via Romine) for the second out!

New Hampshire still hasn't scored in 27 innings.

Rene Rivera with a two run homerun, Thunder lead 3-0
That's because the NH team ran into sick pitching in every game. Tonight through six Banuelos hasn't given up a run, he's given up 4 hits, 3 walks and has 5 strikeouts.Originally Posted by nhyankeefan

I think this is a case of Law being influenced by Romine's second half slump with the bat, and finding justifications to bump guys who have hit more/ have a high OBP, up in the rankings.Originally Posted by jeter62375
Remember that Law was all over Romine at mid-season. Don't let his talk about the glove fool you- he is really thinking of the bat.

Yep, especially since he told everyone for years that Lars Anderson was a sure thing blue chipper because the swing was so smooth. Obviously AAA and AA pitchers had no problem dealing with that swing.Originally Posted by Yankees1962
On this one I think the odds are that Law is correct. Romine hasn't progressed defensively and you already talked about the slump.Originally Posted by Matsui55

I also think its pretty moot as far as the Yanks are concerned- its going to Montero or bust at C for the Yanks near term. Romine is likely trade bait.Originally Posted by Hughes2.50

I'd expect Betances + Banuelos to start in AA, with Brack in AAA.Originally Posted by dabomb2045

If they are still in the system I could actually see it. Brackman is really the only one who has a good shot at Triple-A, but I think it's 50/50 for him.Originally Posted by Hughes2.50

Agree with the sentiment "if they are all in the system." I could see one being traded in the next year or so if it could bring back something special -- there won't be room for all these guys at some point.

Trenton is rallying in the eight inning, 3 runs so far. 6-0 now.
Royal Flush: Hughes, Sabathia, Betances, Brackman, Banuelos.

I suspect this long inning will put the nail in Manny's night.
The Yankees will make room for these three.Originally Posted by Yankee Fan in Boston

agreed, but suspect he was already done. arent he and dellin basically on 80 pitch counts the rest of the way?Originally Posted by TheHugeUnit2
I think it depends if Lee is signed....and if Hughes continues to get better and becomes a front end of the rotation guy.Originally Posted by Hughes2.50

I mean on the ML roster. They haven't shied away from trading top prospects in the past, and if the right deal comes along, it wouldn't shock me if they traded one of these guys.Originally Posted by Hughes2.50

How many top prospects have they traded in the past with their kind of upside though? Nobody.Originally Posted by Yankee Fan in Boston

Sometimes I want to forget that happened & Viz isn't real. God damn Vazquez.
I wouldn't assume signing Lee is a fait accompli. Not now when the Yankees get a closer look at the back. This is similar to the 2007/08 offseason, with all the Yankees talent in the minors (expecially pitchers). Except with Lee he will be a free agent and won't require a trade the Yankees would regret soon after its made.
Of all the top line pitcher prospects, the one who might get moved in the right deal - is Brackman.
Royal Flush: Hughes, Sabathia, Betances, Brackman, Banuelos.
I said in the next year or so... I am thinking out to after the 2011 season -- I am not saying they are trading a guy just to trade him. And if they did, I'd expect something very good to come back.Originally Posted by Hughes2.50

Meh, we'll see how it plays out. We better collect those two picks for Vazquez or I'll be like extremely pissed and disappointed.Originally Posted by Jax Teller
Lets also remember that these three are pretty much at the same level. Assuming they continue on as expected....they should be reaching the majors around the same time.
How would that work trying to break in 2 or 3 young starters at the same time and innings limits? Or just in general breaking in 2 or 3 young pitchers into the rotation at the same time?

We'll see where they are after next year. There are still questions about all of them, and they may not all produce at the same level they did this year (or for part of this year). There was a time when Tabata and Jackson were also pretty well thought of.
