By holds his own do you mean "dominates"?

Very good for his age in SI but it's not dominating.

No doubt about that. It means that he keeps improving and adjusts to the higher level baseball. I find it funny because lots of people (including myself) think that he is having a breakout year. But his batting line actually is very similar to his 2008 season. It seems that he doesn't breakout. He just had a down year in 2009.

I really do think they want to get him some games in the OF, and not here in the late season with his team in playoff contention.

I agree with you that is likely their intentions on sending him to the AFL, if he is still a Yankee in 2011. Make him more versatile. However, Scranton has already clinched, so there is nothing from stopping them from doing that now either.

not really something to do mid-year especially when he is already adjusting to the increased competition of AAA.

he was hitting 308 his last 10.

now 2-5 w 2b's 2RBI tonight, so he got in on the fun.

i would consider CoJo a real prospect as well

Lets hope so. I remember Jeter saying how valuable his experience sitting on the bench in 1995 and being able to take everything in....really helped him going forward.

    Jesus Montero since June 1 (286 at-bats):
    .325/.386/.605/.991
    July 1 (182 at-bats):
    .348/.417/.658/1.075

Just got back from the SWB game. A real blow oout . It made up from last nights horrible double header loss by SIY. Just had to comment on JM's homerun ...It was impressive . The ball cleared the score board by atleast 10 ft.Anyone who's been to PNC knows what a poke that is..

Is he the ace of the thunder staff? He's set to start game 1 of the EL division series.

I was at the game last night, he was hurt a bit by some long innings (Trenton won 20-6) I think because even though he didn't walk anyone, he fell behind in the count a lot and there were a lot of deep counts, hence only 4 innings. He started off hitting 90-91 but by the 4th, he was hitting 93-94.

How do the Eastern League playoffs work? Will the Thunder play the runnerup in the other division or their division first? Looks like NH is going to finish second in Trenton's division and I would love to go to a playoff game up here.

yes they are scheduled to play them, which as great as our pitchers have been will be a difficult matchup as they can throw Drabek and Zach Stewart out there to match.

If anyone knows how the Trenton playoff rotation will be lined up please post. I'm hoping to go on Wednesday and see Banuelos or Betances.

Thanks. I didn't see it on Mashmore's or the Minor Matters blog so if you have a link that'd be cool.

From Mike's blog, looks like Brackman and Manny (if nec) will pitch up here.

The first three pitchers in the postseason rotation, according to Franklin before the game, are Dellin Betances, Adam Warren and Andrew Brackman. Franklin said none of those plans are contingent on a possible Andy Pettitte appearance. However, there is a logistical problem with them.

Andrew Brackman pitches the regular season finale on the 6th. Game 3 would be set for the 10th. Logic would say that if the Thunder have anything clinched, Brackman will skip that final start.

If he wants to play baseball, he will have to reenter the draft. Our rights expired the day of this years draft.
Hes said he would play baseball before moving off quarterback, so this could happen.

I don't believe this is true. White was a senior when the Yankees drafted him, and since he didn't sign he would be a free agent.

I think you have to ask to be declared a free agent, similar to Loux perhaps. I think Selig would allow it for White.
