Very good for his age in SI but it's not dominating.

No doubt about that. It means that he keeps improving and adjusts to the higher level baseball. I find it funny because lots of people (including myself) think that he is having a breakout year. But his batting line actually is very similar to his 2008 season. It seems that he doesn't breakout. He just had a down year in 2009.Originally Posted by b_joseph

2) It will help because it should allow him to continue to see high caliber pitching before next year. Also, it provides an extended showcase if the Yankees look to make any trades this Winter.

I really do think they want to get him some games in the OF, and not here in the late season with his team in playoff contention.Originally Posted by kan_t
I agree with you that is likely their intentions on sending him to the AFL, if he is still a Yankee in 2011. Make him more versatile. However, Scranton has already clinched, so there is nothing from stopping them from doing that now either.Originally Posted by mbn007
not really something to do mid-year especially when he is already adjusting to the increased competition of AAA.Originally Posted by VTYankeesFan2

Wow SWB must be destroying are they facing AJ Burnett?
Our 3 highest minor league clubs are up a combined 24-4 right now.
6-2 for AAA 13-0 for AA 5-2 for A+

Too bad the only real prospect in Trenton's lineup is 0-3 (which he's been doing a lot of lately)
he was hitting 308 his last 10.Originally Posted by BennyTheJetRodriguez

i would consider CoJo a real prospect as well

Don't tease me, you know what I do for a living.
I wonder if the Yankees let Montero travel with the team after his minor league season is over, even in the postseason
Lets hope so. I remember Jeter saying how valuable his experience sitting on the bench in 1995 and being able to take everything in....really helped him going forward.Originally Posted by Dexter Morgan

Just got back from the SWB game. A real blow oout . It made up from last nights horrible double header loss by SIY. Just had to comment on JM's homerun ...It was impressive . The ball cleared the score board by atleast 10 ft.Anyone who's been to PNC knows what a poke that is..![]()
Dellin Betances- 4IP 5H 3ER 5K 1HR 2WP
Is he the ace of the thunder staff? He's set to start game 1 of the EL division series.

I was at the game last night, he was hurt a bit by some long innings (Trenton won 20-6) I think because even though he didn't walk anyone, he fell behind in the count a lot and there were a lot of deep counts, hence only 4 innings. He started off hitting 90-91 but by the 4th, he was hitting 93-94.Originally Posted by Mr.Muhozi

How do the Eastern League playoffs work? Will the Thunder play the runnerup in the other division or their division first? Looks like NH is going to finish second in Trenton's division and I would love to go to a playoff game up here.
yes they are scheduled to play them, which as great as our pitchers have been will be a difficult matchup as they can throw Drabek and Zach Stewart out there to match.Originally Posted by nhyankeefan

You're in luck as Wednesday is Betances (i'll post the link when i find it). However that is all I know so far, im guessing it might be Manny then BrackmanOriginally Posted by Melan-cynic
Thanks. I didn't see it on Mashmore's or the Minor Matters blog so if you have a link that'd be cool.Originally Posted by Mr.Muhozi

From Mike's blog, looks like Brackman and Manny (if nec) will pitch up here.Originally Posted by Melan-cynic

Franklin said none of those plans are contingent on a possible Andy Pettitte appearance. However, there is a logistical problem with them.
Andrew Brackman pitches the regular season finale on the 6th. Game 3 would be set for the 10th. Logic would say that if the Thunder have anything clinched, Brackman will skip that final start.
Thanks man for the good news. Assuming nothing unforeseen comes up I'll be there for Dellin's playoff start and will be sure to give a detailed report of what I see.

If he wants to play baseball, he will have to reenter the draft. Our rights expired the day of this years draft.Originally Posted by TheHugeUnit2

I don't believe this is true. White was a senior when the Yankees drafted him, and since he didn't sign he would be a free agent.Originally Posted by Iknowcool

If that were true, no college senior would ever sign. I'm pretty sure he would have be drafted again.Originally Posted by Snatch Catch

I think you have to ask to be declared a free agent, similar to Loux perhaps. I think Selig would allow it for White.Originally Posted by Iknowcool
