Thread: Bob Feller being treated for leukemia....

Bob Feller being treated for leukemia....

This saddens me deeply as I was named for him. I was also fortunate to see his 3rd no-hitter and 12th and final one-hitter.

He is the greatest Cleveland Indian in history.

May God be with him and his family and let's hope and pray he wins another one!

Bad news. I got to meet Bob in 1993. He's an original, that's for sure.

    Good luck Rapid Robert.

The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

I never saw him in his prime but I did see him many times after he learned how to be a pitcher and use other pitches than the heater. He was a wonder. He has lived a rich full life and certainly with doctors care live a few more good years even with leukemia. I wish him only the best.

Ahh crap, hate this news, seen him on TV, still sharp at 90+, great storyteller, swears he has thrown well over 105 MPH and sat in is prime at 102-103 with heater.
I am inclined to believe the guy..

Great life, but I'd like to have him around for some more war stories.

Keep in mind he entered WW11 in his prime. He won 25 games in 1941 and 26 games his first full season back with not a great team!

He very well could have had 100 more victories and 1000 more strikeouts!

Yes, let's hope he can be around for a few more years.

I worked with leukemia patients for 17 years - it's a terrible disease. I wish him the best.

Without the war his arm may blow out even faster. But war or not, he is an all-time great pitcher.

    I wish him the best.

He was an ole farm boy who was virtuallythe first to keep in top notch condition. I doubt Feller, of all pitchers, would have blown his arm out at that stage of his career.

His arm blew out at 30. He was good and adjusted. But unlike Grove, he was not dominant anymore after the adjustment. His IP before 30:

He told me he thought the war cost him 100 wins. Then he said he didn't care because the war was more important.
