In my big money league I am slotted at the 5 spot. I know the people drafting except for the guy picking at three. Chris Johnson and AP are the first two picks in some sort of order and I assume MJD will do third. That said, the owner of the league thinks the new owner may take Brees. At four my cousin said he is taking MJD if available or Frank Gore. He wants nothing to do with Ray Rice.
At five, Rice makes a lot of sense, but there are other intriguing options out there. I won't go into the breakdown of our point system, but here are totals of people I'm thinking of taking at 5 (not including bonuses they can earn on a weekly basis.
Ray Rice (2009)- 2295 fantasy points
Andre Johnson (2009)- 2299.75 fantasy points
Michael Turner (2008 since he was injured for the second half of the year)- 2533.5 points.
Turner was injured last year and I really cannot ignore that, so he is probably eliminated.
Andre Johnson is the best WR out there, but in this league you need a legit RB to win it all. Some years you can get lucky and find a gem, but it's not as easy. I'm intrigued to take him, but I see a pretty good WR (Calvin Johnson, Roddy White, Reggie Wayne) being there in the 2nd round as opposed to maybe getting lucky and having Ryan Grant fall to me or having to take a risk on a non-proven RB.
Rice is probably the direction I'm going in. I'm worried they may pass more with the upgrade to their WR corps. However, this may also open things up for Rice. He is going to get the majority of carries in Baltimore but he is still sharing carries and is not their RB when they are near the goal line.
QBs are also valuable in this league but I see a lot of depth this year at the position. That said, if an elite QB falls to me in the 2nd round I'd be hard pressed to pass on him.
So who would you take at the five spot if you were me?

). Back to Rice, he ave. 5.3 yards a carry last year as well as 78 catches(I expect that to go up)
