Federer v. Djokovic for the semi's. Fourth year running, could be an interesting watch as both seem to be in top form again. I still predict Feds to reach the final.
Other side of the draw:
- Nadal v. Verdasco: potentially tricky, but seeing how Verdasco went the distance against Ferrer he could be too physically tired
- Wawrinka v. Youzhny: like I said, I like how Wawrinka is playing at the moment, Peter Lundgren seems to have a good effect on him. Again could be quite physical, Wawrinka has a 4 setter against Murray and 5 setter against Querry in his legs...

Well, Kim Clijsters defeated a Williams sister in the US Open semifinals. Last year, it was Serena. This year, it's Venus.
Venus won the first set, 6-4, but the defending US Open women's singles champion stormed back to win the second set in a tiebreak 7-2 and won the third and decisive set 6-4.
Well, sorry to break it to Caroline Wozniacki fans, but the great Dane will not go back to the finals.
Russian Vera Zvonareva defeats the #1 seed in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.

My thought going in was Federer and Clijsters, and i see no reason to change my mind.
We do not see things as they are. We see them as we are.
It is never too late to be what you might have been.
I agree on Kim Clijsters, but I pick Rafael Nadal to win the men's singles.Originally Posted by JfromJersey

Rafael Nadal advances to the men's singles finals. Will there be another Nadal-Roger Federer final?

Whomever reaches the final, might as well give Nadal the trophy now. Federer and Djokovic are in a 5th set...
I hate super saturday, why can't the US Open just have semi's on friday? I understand that you want to make it prime time, but if you start the two semifinals at 19.00h on friday, you still have two evening matches that will be watched.

Rafa Nadal breezed through his semifinal against Mikhail Youzhny in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 and 6-4.
Those two, Fed and Djokovic will be gassed after this fifth set.

Hard to believe Djokovic beat Federer.

djokovic wins.
what a match,
Federer was moving like crap all day. His backhand looked terrible and he let Djokovic dictate play.
Will be rooting for Djoker in the final.
This may be the biggest win of Djoker's career. And he's won the Aussie Open. He didn't fold and he beat one of the best.
Great for him.
I just want a great match tommorow. Don't care who wins.
All five sets with tiebreakers between Rafa and Novak will be nice.Originally Posted by DRobertsonNYY

There were times during the match when it looked like he would let his emotions get the best of him, but he pushed through it. Very impressive win. I hope he can bring the same aggressive play to tomorrow's match.Originally Posted by DRobertsonNYY

But as long as Rafa wins his 1st and completes his Grand Slam set, I'll be ok.
Oh and making the 2 mens matches play the day before the final is a tradition that needs to be discarded, ASAP. Its ridiculous to make Novak play another game tomorrow after that game today.

This sports day for me just went down the sh*tter in the past 30 minutes. I wanted Federer-Nadal....sigh. And I also HATE Djokovic...the guy is a complete jerkoff.
I hope and pray Rafa smokes him tommorrow.

First set to Nadal 6-4, 50 minutes.
Nadal making more winners than Djokovic, better winners/unforced errors ratio, better points won on 1st and 2nd serve.
A ton of work to do for the Serbian who also limped a couple of times with his ankle.
